This performance is absolute perfection. There is a something that should be pointed out about this broadcast, and this is written by someone that is certainly no stranger to the music business. It is not uncommon for a band playing live on television to not sound their best. This performance, however, is impressively flawless. It is inarguable that everything, including Julian’s band, his vocals, certainly, the arrangements, and as always, his lyrics are brilliant. It is absolutely a gift that these “new” videos of Julian are being posted. I am elated to see this performance. It is a great coincidence, because just last night, I was talking to a close friend of mine that writes for Billboard Magazine. I said to him that while all of Julian’s work has always been of interest to me, I have always felt that there has never been enough music from him. There is one fact that cannot be argued with. Julian has never gotten the credit for his work that he deserves.
