One of Žižek’s More Interesting Ideas

Hello and good morning everybody, I clearly jinxed this video by announcing that it would be ten minutes and then having it be fifteen! At least in the end I managed to hold myself back from also trying to shoehorn in Adorno’s concept of repressive sublimation.
Anyway, the goal of this video was to give you a quick introduction to Žižek’s argument that it was not Freud but Marx who invented the symptom.

First time commenter, long time follower. I began looking into this idea of Marx's notion of symptom vs. Freud's a couple weeks ago so i'm really glad you are covering it now. If I got it correctly, Zizek says of both cases something like: "the point is to avoid a fetishistic fascination with the content supposedly hidden behind the form".
