Oh nooo, My dad got ours about 5 years ago and now the batterie dies so fast so its useless too. Would ou recommend another cheap 360 cam?

I got one free with the last Samsung Note I owned. Swapped to a newer Samsung and I can't make the app work. Dumped the app before I knew that you couldn't get a new one. And yeah, mine has become a paperweight too. I keep hoping some hacker would write a free app that would work. So far no luck.

I don't have the camera yet, but I got the apk for the gear 360 and samsung accessory service and the app is now working on my modern-ish phone (flip 4). So, if you have an android phone, this still works Great video!

what version of the 360 gear apk? also what samsung accessory service apk version? tested multiple and none work on S23

I have a Gear 360 that hasn't been used in a long time and I just came across your video. Mine would not connect to my I Phone either. When you clicked on "get connected" in the app it just said to go to settings>wi-fi, then select Gear 360. But, when you came back to the app, it remained the same. After trying a lot of different things, I was finally able to get it to connect through the app. Not sure if this will work for others, but its worth trying! Under settings on the phone, go to gear 360 and make sure Local Network is on. Then, connect the camera through wifi as you normally would in settings, and then click on the info (circled i). Make sure the last two settings Configure DNS and Configure Proxy are on automatic, and not manual or off. Then, you should be able to go the app and no longer see "get connected", but rather Camera, Gallery, and Settings. The photo mode worked fine, and although the video mode won't allow you to preview, it is still recording the video. Not perfect, but still able to use these cameras.

I just bought one of these for 30 bucks on eBay, and have read a lot after that it won’t work on an iPhone. Did this really work for you? I will try when mine comes in.

I just now checked to make sure and yes, it still connects fine. Make sure you go to settings first and once it's connect on wifi, open the app and choose camera. Hope it works!

I bought the Gear 360 2017 from Amazon UK for £27 in April 2023 knowing about the lack of software support. I also purchased a used Samsung S7 phone and the camera and software works ok with the phone. Another working method is to have a Windows 7 installation which also allows the Gear 360 software to work as intended. For the price paid and a bit of hassle getting the essential software to work I can't complain, it was a great bargain entry into 360 filming. I have multiple short 360 clips made with it on my YT channel including many from Rome, Italy at the Colosseum, also Pompeii and elsewhere!

the gear 360 2017 is an awesome Jpeg motion camera for sure but Samsung decommissioned the app, I should take mine out and use it more often its for sure a crisp shot

I just found my Gear 360 camera after several years and I decided to play around with it again just to find out the app (which i surprisingly still had from older phone transfers) it is no longer being supported...the app opens and everything but the moment i go to connect the gear to the app, the app will crash and theres nothing that can fix it. Sad to say it's going back in its box back to where it came from

Thanks for sharing Jules. The Samsung Gear 2017 was my first 360 camera. Not great but not too bad either. Still have some videos on my channel which I checked thanks to your video. Good to reminisce.

Thank you. At last I was able to get the answer how can I use my camera. I always wanted to buy it, but when I was able to do so, I find that it is difficult to process the images.

stitching is software function, or post processed, each stitching software will do it differently. Gear 360 action director for the PC is free with the serial number from the camera, fyi.

Unfortunately Action Director can no longer be installed on computers since it needs to be activated through an internet connection to Samsung servers that were removed, so even with your serial number or direct usb connection to the camera it is no longer usable (unless you already had it installed and activated before they disabled the servers)

I just dug one out of my old electronics bin. I think I got it with an old Note8/9 preorder along with their Gear VR headset. I kinda wish I used it more when I was mich more active but Im reyinf to think of things to do with it now...

The app is discontinued, so it's not worth buying this. I have the camera, but I can't connect to it via Bluetooth.

You can stil use this gear 360 with a old s7 and s8 and work well

Turn the camera on. Go to your wifi on the phone and select the camera.

Just put the SD card in your PC and transfer the files. I've never used my phone to transfer.
