Every couple of years or so I replay 2 series. Uncharted and Mass Effect. Uncharted is a series that has what I call throw away scenery. You get wowed by it the first time, and the next playthrough you appreciate how much detail they put into them. Almost every little statue and some walls you just run past have loads of intricate carvings on them. And the set pieces look epic. Mass Effect is an epic Space RPG/Shooter where what you do matters. People can die if you don't help them, and that can sometimes affect what happens in the next game and endings. The PS3/ Xbox 360 era gave us some epic games.

Lmao its a tomb raider rip off that's full to the brim with QTE's and pony's always crying out for it to be played by streamers. There's a Xbox OG streamer who got a PS5 for spiderman even said to the viewers he didn't get it to play old PS backlog now his chat and comments are full of pony's begging him to play it they don't care just want you playing something PlayStation. I'd rather see you play something you enjoy rather than something you have to act out enjoying

⁠@@overheatedeskim054I am one of those weird people who love tomb raider , but the Tomb raider series was never as polished as uncharted series back in 2009 even though the Tomb Raider IP came out first. You can’t make a fair comparison of the later Tomb Raider games something without understanding the timeframe. There’s a reason why Uncharted 2 always makes the rankings of best games of all time.

I'm just watching your first part of this playthrough. Now it's not a spoiler. The riot shields are AWESOME. You're swapping your two handed gun for the shield. You then use your single handed gun to fire around it. You can use it as a melee weapon, and charge a riot shield guy to deprive him of it. Something you probably already noticed, but Uncharted sticks very closely to it. The background music is intense and upbeat ONLY when there's enemies still alive. When the music stops, the stage is clear, and you can safely explore.

One of the best things about Uncharted is they gave us three badass women: Elena, Chloe, and *Spoiler*, who are all realistic characters that can keep up with Nate and who don't spend all their time fighting over him.

A little non-spoiler hint for the entire Uncharted franchise; when there's a treasure that you can't get to, try shooting it. It should fall, allowing you to go collect it. I've completed all 5 a few times and never found that. It took me watching a streamer do it. I can't remember who it was, but it works.

The first 3 games were PS3 exclusives, later remastered for the PS4 and PS5 as the Nathan Drake Collection. 4 and 5 were PS4 exclusives, later upgraded to PS5. The difference in the two versions of the same game engine is very noticeable. There's a LOT more fine details to really draw you in. As much as they're all pretty linear stories, the set pieces are INSANE. This series gets better and better with each instalment. For folks starting new today, the 1st game looks it's age. It's still fun, but you can easily skip it. Start with the 2nd, and you'll be good. BTW, the game I'm counting as 5, is actually a non-numbered Lost Legacy, but it's a full on Uncharted game that was released in 2018; two years after the 4th game, and built on the same engine. The thing that makes this franchise so replay-able, and watchable, is to try, and see different ways to approach a set piece. They CONSTANTLY try to flank you from everywhere. They work together to lure you out. They come in waves, and spread out to hunt you when they're aware of you. You HAVE to keep moving. If you don't, you will die very quickly. To add another layer to the complexity, you also need to control the camera as all this unfolds. The question that's always running through your brain a million times a minute, is HOW, WHEN, and WHERE to move to. You constantly have to find cover for a few seconds, to return colour to the screen. They're NOT gonna just let you do that without trying to kill you. You learn pretty quick that it's often a frantic dash, and dance between cover, and have to move instantly when you spot that you've just popped into someone ELSES field of fire. If you're lucky, you might take out that guy before you have to dash to different cover. If you're unlucky, you aim at him, then find you're out of ammo. You need to try and be strategic, while also scurrying about like a maniac, and getting completely turned around.

@@savageplanet8299 hi! I actually enjoy streaming games even more now than I did in the earlier years. It’s much more enjoyable and less stressful for me to stream beautiful story games rather than the shooter/battle royale games I used to stream a lot 😅 I think making changes in games I play and the way I interact with chat and just maturing over time has helped too. I am human so I definitely still have days where I need a break from comments or just don’t want to stream, but overall I’m very happy and grateful that I’ve been able to do this so long

No, Chloe was 100% correct. She's trying to get shit done and get out quickly and alive, and Drake is constantly undermining her and sabotaging her efforts because he's not over his ex-girlfriend. Bringing Elena and Jeff with them was already idiotic, because Lazarevich is hunting Drake specifically so it's really putting them in further danger, but carrying Jeff from the Temple was basically betraying Chloe right then and there. She's a double agent and Drake is repeatedly and needlessly exposing her to danger. If they had just left Jeff or better yet never put Elena and Jeff in further danger by bringing them along to begin with, the entire train segment would never have had to have happened, and Lazarevich would never have gotten the map and would've just wasted the rest of the game twiddling his thumbs in Nepal while we would have been free to get the treasure. Drake constantly undermining Chloe made for a better video game in the long run, but Chloe absolutely had the right to be furious at Drake for his almost treasonous levels of stupidity thus far.

A mechanic that I don't think is ever explained in the game, is your health bar. When the screen is full colour, your health is fine. As you get hit, you'll see feint blood creep in from the edges, and you'll hear your heartbeat. The colour drains, and the blood floods from the edges until you're dead. Use this to your advantage during the set pieces. Just stop being shot for a few seconds as your health recovers. It's wise to just wait in cover until the colour returns before attacking, so you have health to take damage. When it's black and white, you want to break off your current plan, and seek cover ASAP. The L3 button switches hands, allowing you to get a different angle on an enemy.
