Marriage is supposed to be loving and fun and beautiful, it’s sad you don’t think it’s not much that. I understand there are fights, arguments, a lot of forgiveness. Just don’t forget that you are young, youth is precious and pls don’t waste these young years being sad and stuck and having to travel for an escape. Sometimes love is not enough- I wish you the best Julia. Always

ultimately the only reason i’ve left harsh comments is because the same thing happened to me in a relationship where i was presented something different then somehow i became tue sole breadwinner-my partner was critical of my cleaning-and also everyone in my life said to leave. i thought they were just haters or judgemental but after my own attempt at life-i realized that i was with a narcissist and even though she loved me-it was taking away my light and my life force. you shouldn’t have to travel and work away from home-home should be your safe place. and eileen isn’t evil but she’s enmeshed you in her own trauma. you are allowed to start fresh-for your sake. i did 1.5 years of couples therapy and i wish i could take those thousands of dollars back.

Sometimes the best healing of all is to let go of situations that are sucking your life force and energy. If it’s bringing your soul down spiritually then it’s time to consider separation wether temporary or permanently. You won’t know how you feel until you have several months away from the situation. The true you will emerge like a butterfly if you give space. That’s for both of you Julia and Eileen. There’s always two sides to the story.

🧚🏼‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️Hi beautiful Julia, I ended a relationship with my daughter’s father last year after around 9 yrs. If being with a person is bringing you down then THE best thing is to remove the poison from your life. I don’t necessarily mean the person is poisonous but sometimes the relationship can be especially if it has been tainted with broken trust as that bond can never be fully whole again regardless of how you try to look past it. I’ve never loved somebody that much before and I probably always will - that was my person but I came to realized that although I was the one who had the right to feel hurt, his person was him always was and always will be. I’ve accepted this now and although we have not lived in the same house for over a year now these days we can actually sit at the same table and eat together whereas we could barely be in the same room. I miss the good times with my daughters father of course and that is okay. 🧚🏼‍♀️ PLEASE LOVELY JULIA, if this marriage is causing you depression at least consider a trial separation. You may make it permanent or possibly you reunite but GIVE YOURSELF A CHANCE PLEASE! DO NOT cling on to the good times or “the way it was before”, it is chasing an impossibility and you’ll end up 35 like me, thinking why didn’t I give myself this chance years ago. As I said yes I miss the good times too BUT everyone is happier now and I 100% regret not making this decision earlier. Sending all my love from New Zealand♥️

You have good times and bad times. And the test of how strong a marriage is is how you make it through those tough times together and come out stronger on the other side .. If you want it to work you BOTH have to put the effort in constantly to make it work. Goodluck Julia. I guess you reach the bottom when you tell publicly about how the person you are married to makes you depressed while still being with that person. I don’t think this will help the marriage honestly. Plus, if a person grew up in that way I doubt she’s gonna change the way she relates to people in their late 60s… The only way would be to spend enough time separated to clean both minds and work on yourselves before really trying again. there is always time to recover from a bad relationship but not to have back the years lost trying desperately to make it work.

The thing is , Julia is an open book, and Eileen seems to have a lot of secrets. Anyway, I’m sure they love each other, but I can’t even imagine being in Julia situation. I feel you..and it takes strong resolve to share with the general public such personal things. For myself in relationships, I feel betrayed and try to sweep it under the rug and then I end up harming myself because I am angry that I feel powerless to protect myself from other people. I prioritize peace and have a hard time being direct. For me I see relationships as a business type decision and romantic love belongs in entertainment not in real life. Out of love, you guys should go to couples counseling! I plan to before I get married and I think it’s something that everyone else should too. Most couples issues are due to communication issues and not understanding each other’s love languages. Now that being said, any physical abuse or infidelity in a marriage or relationship should be a deal breaker.

I think so too. It’s sad to see so many people commenting saying things like “choose yourself” or “marriage doesn’t have to last forever” …pretty much showing just how many people nowadays feel like the vows of marriage folks take means little to nothing & they’d rather just give up and walk away before actually trying to resolve the issues with their partner first. That’s sad to me. I get putting oneself first, and that’s ok, but when you’re married the decisions you make and actions you take ought to be a reflection of your union and have your partner in mind, not the other way around. If ppl are just automatically choosing to walk away without actually *trying* to fix things (obv if things are super toxic & abusive then that’s different) then one has to wonder if that person either never really wanted to be married in the first place or perhaps wasn’t exactly ready for all that a marriage actually entails. That said, it sounds like Julia really *does* love her wife and she isn’t just going to give up on things…which is amazing and is also a mature way of handling things, which I commend her for & have respect for. It makes me sad that Julia is down, bcuz I also suffer from anxiety, depression & other mental health issues, so I can relate which sucks. However, I am happy that she is doing things to work on her mental health *AND* her marriage. I really wish them both nothing but the best, whatever the outcome may be!

Just know your worth and what you deserve. You ofcourse don’t want to give up easily and in a marriage you shouldn’t. You chose forever together and that means through ups and downs. But… when it comes to a point that it’s time to choose for yourself, make that choice. If in the end it doesn’t work, that’s really sad, but also know that you deserve happiness. Everyone does! And if staying means that you won’t be happy, it’s time to go. Which is different from the ups and downs ofcourse. You will know that difference in your heart. Just, make sure you also consider yourself. And that’s indeed not meant as hate, it’s meant as some kind advice. Because we all deserve to be happy or at least to work towards happiness, happy moments and great memories. Those are meant to balance out the tough times, but it should not always be tough. Hope that helps.

Also spend some time alone before jumping into another relationship. Whatever happens I hope you find happiness.

I felt something was off between both of you. Not just Eileen but both. When i saw you started sporting all long fingernails i was like uh oh trouble in paradise. But the thing is marriage has ups and downs. Only you and Eileen know what is going on. Just dont let it fester. Counseling, each of you keep a diary of what is bothering you or a situation that happend and have"talk about us" date nights where you maybe put on just low romantic intrumental music. Put your comfy lounging clothes on and have tea or coffee sit down at the table and talk about things that you need to get discussed. Having fights, dry spells, yelling matches, walking out for air is normal. But when it gets to resenting eachother and constant bickering and picking at eachother where you both feel drained all the time is when its dangerous and time to make changes.❤

Julia and Eileen, first of all I want to say, make sure you truly love yourselves or recognise that that is your biggest responsibility in life to learn to do that more and more each day, because you cannot put the pressure on your partner to be that source of love for you. It's a wonderful thing to love each other, but it is a gift, not a compensation for a lack of self love. This is the first step I would advise anyone to have a successful relationship. Recognise also, that you might have different emotional styles and desires from a relationship. Don't assume, that just because your arrangement isn't working, that either of you have failed the relationship. It may be that you've discovered that you've both grown in different directions, and even though you love each other very much, you have to decide amongst yourselves, in all honesty and integrity, that you both want to proceed with the relationship with love and faith and belief, and even learning to love each other's differences. It may or may not be possible. This has nothing to do with failure, just with human growth through experience. Neither one of you has bad intentions, but perhaps your styles don't always match and, if that's the case, be accepting of that, and learn to love your differences. I don't know if this resonates with either of you, but have faith that you can get through any and every circumstances in your life, and that, if you believe in God, or the universe, that beautiful things await you both, and let loose of each other a little perhaps and your expectations of each other, without giving up on the love for each other. It's still a beautiful thing. Become more unconditional, and do whatever makes you both feel good and safe. And if that requires space, then take it, and communicate, above all else. That's just what I channeled :) love you both. Also, water signs and air signs have very different needs and sensitivities, that's not a bad thing, but tricky to navigate. As long as you recognise that and are willing to see each other's point of view without demanding either one of you change, then I know you can both make this work!!

If she cheated then please consider leaving, I don’t believe once a cheater always a cheater but I DO believe once a cheater in a relationship always a cheater in the relationship, staying just confirms to her that you don’t value yourself highly enough and she can get away with it, there’s a reason why you’ll never see two people in a happy relationship and one of them has only cheated once, they’ve either cheated multiple times or the relationship will never recover and you’ll go through hell until it’s over, you’re young, you still have time to find somebody who deserves you and settle down, because if the reality is that she cheated ok you might make it work for another 5 years but then what? She’ll either cheat again or you’ll still be unhappy and then you’ll wish you had those 5 years to focus on yourself and find somebody else

I doubt it's about cheating at all. But if someone cheats, it's important to discuss why, if there is something that they were missing in the relationship that can be addressed or if it was just boredom, lust etc. Also, not everyone is monogamous, she even mentioned before that she's open to including another person into their relationship if both were into her and if she's attracted to both of them.

@@saramcdonalds9038 If that's the case, that's literally the easiest thing to fix. But not being happy with the actual relationship, feeling emotionally neglected, misunderstood, not seeing a future or caring about the other person is something that is much harder to address (sometimes even with therapy). If the reason is only based on sexual needs, it's fixable. A compromise can always be made. Sex isn't everything in the relationship, there are usually more things in play. And even if doesn't resolve, it will help you understand the behaviour and know how to prevent and/or address it in the future.

People can speculate about cheating, money, lies - whatever. But what Matters, Julia, is your mental health and if its healthy with you two. If you need to distract yourself by working and by traveling away from your partner then you really need to look at things. Not just for you, but Elieen as well. When you lose trust it can be extremely damaging no matter the reason. And if you're aware of your own negative behavior/passive comments, I think couples therapy is something you should give a chance. If things/feelings don't change then you have a decicions to make, both of you. My genuine advice is to try therapy together before you move homes/countries because if something happens after the move its going to be even worse and more stressful. Both of you look after yourselves and I genuinely hope things get better for you.
