While filming the Finally Free performance Madison’s dress was so tight and it was so hot since the location did not have AC that Madison nearly fainted, they took her outside for some fresh air and Charlie tried to lighten the mood by saying something along the lines of “I knew I was good looking but I didn’t think I was that good looking” that Ruke moment 🤣 everything after the song was improvised. Those boys are hilarious. Can’t get over the irony that Julie sings “What doesn’t kill you makes you feel alive” with a ghost band. That guitar solo moment was Charlie’s idea. Charlie asked Kenny if Luke could play a guitar solo in response to Julie ignoring him during the beginning of the song and as a way to get her to look at him.

“Edge of Great” is my favorite song out of these AND my favorite episode as well. So much happens and it all flows so well. The “girls, am I right?” “No” is a really good 1-2 punch and it was improvised! You also have “Perfect Harmony”, which is insanely well choreographed, and composed by Charlie and Madison themselves, which definitely added to their performances. The guitar riff in the titular song for this episode is also one of Charlie’s ideas, and it’s pretty genius. It completes the bridge! Speaking of, I love how during the performance, Julie pointedly tries to ignore Luke because she can’t fall in love with him, but he catches her attention with that. You don’t really notice it until you watch the show, which means it’s pretty well-acted. Also, the costuming is on point in that episode, especially for Julie during the performance.

Well, holograms are light projections, so for them to appear that clear required the stage to be really dark. Instead the many many stage lights(even the freaking sun light) didn't even pass through them, as if they're there in the flesh. That didn't add up. Of course this being a tween show we're expected to ignore such things. 😁
