a beautiful song. My mum Mary now aged 94 taught me this when I was younger, and can still play the accompaniment for me to sing it . she sings along although her voice is fading due to Alzheimers .... but it gives her so much pleasure.

How is your mum? I just discovered this song and film of the same title yesterday, 5/3/2020 on TCM. Such a treasure. I am taking care of my 97-year-old mom, but she doesn't have Alzheimer's. My Dad did. Your words made me think.
