I keep returning to this beautiful piece. Such a joy to listen to and to just ponder. Even at its most challenging, life is wonderful, wondrous and filled with thingies to discover. Thank you for sharing this beautiful Folk artist.

I love this song so much I had it for the first dance at my wedding. Julie Fowlis is an angel. This is the best song she has ever recorded and this version is, in my opinion, even better than the one on the album.

+1lightheaded You've got as much a chance of learning Gaelic as anyone in Scotland. The majority of schools here have zero interest in teaching it. Shameful, appalling situation :(

Just magnificent. I've been on this channel for a few years now and have seen this clip often but, this week past, it has had a very personal and particular significance which has made it all that more powerful and poignant. Julie, what a gift you are.

Breathtaking song. Just been on her website and she is mentioning the "flooding in cockermouth!" Am I the only one who finds that quite funny?? Joking aside, she has a translation to the lyrics and they are so beautiful in English as well as Gaelic! Brilliant artist. Truly amazing work. :)

And we'll rear them in a sheiling in Bràigh Raithneach, in the brush-wood enclosed hut of dalliance. The cuckoo will sing its song to us from the trees, the brown stag and its roaring will wake us in the morning.
