Thank you very much, I have studied ancient Art History at school very well but unfortunately not the contemporary one so this channel is finally helping me out! You are doing an amazing job, keep going!

I really enjoy your intros! This a style of painting that I don’t really connect with, but the way you frame it is very engaging. We need a lot more metaphor when talking about modern art.

Thanks. I was hoping for comments like this. I know this type of art doesn't engage some people, but I think there is value in taking it seriously and struggling with it anyway.

Intros are entirely appropriate. Thanks!

Wow I love the decolonization of narrative that the art enforces: one cannot approach these with a conquering lens. One must approach it as exploration. Really cool subject, fantastic video as always. Also, no those intros are not too long by any measure. Felt both necessary and useful.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes that was my favorite idea contained within this one too. Happy you found it useful.

I've lived and worked my entire life in Los Angeles County, and I only know the neighborhoods I have frequented. Yes, if you don't have a car, you cannot survive very well here. It was an interesting allegory to these paintings. Nice video.

@@AmorSciendi I took a year of Art History in college 40 years ago. One of our assignments was visiting art museums. I had to visit the LACMA and one of the other major museums in the county. That class instilled an appreciation for art that this science major didn't previously have.

If that’s a landscape painting, I’ve got some neat new clothes. Clothes that an Emperor once bought and shocked his court with!

Your intros are not too long, it is a modern art piece, which naturally require more introduction. Great video btw! :)

5:35 annihilation & preservation in landscape 9:50 neogolism; Decolonization of narratives. Similar to the 'counter narrative' found in kihinde wiley RUMOR OF WAR statue.

Seems a bit pretentious, no? Art has always been about human expression which can't be conveyed or understood in words alone. .

I really do wish that the American Civil War had been about freeing the African slaves, but unfortunately the emancipation proclamation was more about cutting off the South's production capacity. Lincoln is quoted as saying that if he could have won the war without freeing the slaves, he would have. :/
