I remember reading a book by her when I was still at the university. And felt like for most of the part didn´t get it. XD Not sure if it was when I already changed from art history to social science which was only after 3 semesters. I stayed much longer before I acknowledged I won´t manage to get a degree. ^^ But I know this book was part of a separate library for women´s literature of different kinds and it caught my attention. Probably only because of the word Trans in it. 😆😆 I visited the women and lesbian room at the university regularly, partly to just have some! social contact at this monster of anonymity that we have here, partly bc I felt I might get answers to questions that came up in my mind about sexual identity, gender, things noone would talk about. Despite being very girly I never really felt like a woman, and I definitely never understood how heels work. I can see why people like them, talked about it more than once with different men later which was always very surreal. XD A few times we had sth like Trans Night in the room, watching a documentary and talk a bit later. And oc I compared myself to the other people, some were def more in between on the sexual identity spectrum and with my inexperienced way of thinking I thought, no, I could never be trans I´m way too soft, emotional, whatever. Which is looking back total BS. There was not long later a funny moment when I joined a queer disco night with some of the people. On the drive there I must have mentioned sth about my identity confusion and one of us asked, could it be that you´re Trans? I shortly laughed about the suggestion, but that was when it got through to me more that there are very different aspects to this topic. We heard about it in the documentary before, but if you´re not used to it it can feel very distant and ´this can´t be me´ like. Corinna later told me that she was actually born male, which I never would have guessed! I don´t know how she managed to get HT prepuberty at this time, but it def worked. For me it turned out later when I was 31 and I would have the oportunity to transition that I feel more inbetween and mostly rather undetermined. It´s a somewhat weird place to be bc people want to belong somewhere. I can´t even tell for myself if I was really born like this or if the way my family members engaged with me, very distant and somehow never really there enhanced it. Maybe we´ll never really know how this all comes together since it also is such a sensitive topic. Became even much more sensitive since I thought about it more personally. This development especially looking towards the US debate I would never have expected in 2011.
