I’m so confused as to how the game knows which cards the spymaster is thinking of. It just throws me all the time.

It gives you a set of cards in your color when you're spy master. There's a point in the video (I think it's when they show Chris laughing at the whiskey dick situation) where you can see his view of the board and it shows which cards are red and blue so they know which cards to give clues for.

The game doesn't know which cards the spymaster is thinking of. The spymaster's job is to pick a clue that indicates specific words. You can click on a card that's not related to the clue and it will still count as a point, if you happen to guess right and it was a card in the color of your team.

There are 2 teams playing (Red and Blue) and each team has 2 types of players (Spymaster and Spy). On the board of words there are 3 different types - Targets, Civilians, and 1 Black Card. In the Spymaster POV, the board will have cards that are coloured - Red, Blue, Grey, Black. In the Spy POV, the cards are all same colour (as is in this vod because Julen is playing as Spy). The Red & Blue cards are targets for each team, the Grey cards are Civilians, the Black card is like instant death. I'll explain from Julien's POV here, so he's playing as the Spy with Jason. Chris is his Spymaster. Chris can see which cards on the board belongs to his team (Red Cards), Julien & Jason don't know. The spymaster Chris has to give one word clues to the spies J&J to help them choose the correct targets / cards. The first team to uccessfully choose all their correct cards, they win. If any team choose the black card, instantly lose. If they choose grey cards, they don't lose but cannot continue guessing: So the one word clues come with a number, indicating how many cards on the board relate to that clue. See Alli and Sami were guessing for the clue "Water 4", which means there are 4 words related to "Water" for them, they chose the Boil card but that was a grey card which means they cannot continue their turn. If Boil was a correct card (Blue Card) for them, they could have continued guessing until they got a wrong card or they click end guessing. Honestly, this game is quite simple but it's hard to explain? I hope it kinda help you in some way! Sorry it's so long.
