Excellent and entertaining video. I found via Andrew Price on twitter (thanks AP!) Something that immediately sprang to mind is how good these renders would be to experience in 360degrees SBS to view in a Rift/Vive. To me it seems the sense of scale could then be more profound. Anyway I'm glad I found your channel. thank you.

Beautiful work man, this was very helpful. fractals are unlike any other visual effect, they are something that I should focus more time on because they are so unique! Also its cool we share the same first name which is not a common thing for me. :) Also I was wondering how long does it take you to make each shot? compared to if you were to model texture and render a scene of similar detail in a more standard 3D program?
@julius-horsthuis8 жыл бұрын
Thank you Julius! To create a scene can take something like a couple of minutes to an hour or so. It's the rendering and post processing that takes much longer.
@Table-Top6 жыл бұрын
excellent, thank you
@nateshrager5126 жыл бұрын
You'll normally run into symmetries when interpolating across moving julia values with julia mode on (in mandelbulb 3d). If you are using this, the best way I have found to avoid those blaring symmetry lines is to focus on a part of the scene that is segmented by the largest major julia axes, so that the smaller ones all blend into the rest of the scene

Excellent video and gorgeous fractals. You clearly know what you're doing with the software. Speaking of which, what are you using? I assume that, like many-if-no-most fractal artists, you're using both Mandelbulb 3D and Mandelbulber. Do you have a preference between those? Are you using something else entirely. Also, you are CLEARLY doing some very detailed post work here. Such a glows of certain colors. Very inspiring, and it's making me think about how I can achieve similar using Blender, Fusion, and DaVinci Resolve. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. :D
@julius-horsthuis7 жыл бұрын
Thank you. No Mandelbulber, only Mandelbulb3D. And indeed, After Effects work. Checkout my tutorial called 'underwater fractal tutorial' where I explain more about the process. J

i diddn't like symmetry either.. But think about it.. Fractal functions are pure summetry. It repeats it self over and over and over.. I have also drawn the mandelbrot set, dragon curve etc.. And they are all made out of pure repetition.. So i started to avoid it to make it more chaotic, but the boarder is so small.. The beauty is within the symmetry.. It is also the symmetry which make up the "pods" accept the beauty!!!!!!!!!!!111 :)
