It's been six years since I first saw one of these in my local music shop and knew I had to have it...yesterday, having repeatedly nagged them, I finally handed over what was needed to release it from its' imprisonment...

I have an alto sx90r. It was made in the early 90s. I bought it in 2005 or so. That horn absolutely incredible. It has almost doubled in value since I got it, but I never want to sell it!

Laurie, I'm not associated with this company at all, but I can tell you, this instrument is well worth the price tag. I have one and it's the best saxophone that I've ever played on. My desire is to someday replace my alto, which is a selmer mark VI and my saprano, which is a cannonball curved, with Keilwerth horns. Absolutely the best made instruments on the mark. The feel of the horn, the intonation, quality manufacturing! All worth the price tag for the true saxophonist.

Overall design, quality of materials, and country of manufacture are just a few of the variables to consider when pricing a horn. It's very common for professional level instruments to be well over $6000. Remember, if properly maintained these instruments can last for decades. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. The instrument in our shop is used and is priced significantly lower than a new instrument.

I have and play a Conn (DJH modified) tenor made by Keilwerth in West Germany and it looks like a Couf Superba 1. I have no idea how it compares with the modern Keilwerth horns, but it has a very large bell and a very resonant sound. I’m intrigued by this horn in the video and I wonder what is the same or different. Also, how does the value compare? How much is this one being demonstrated and how much would mine be worth? I am probably not interested in selling my current horn, but am somewhat in the market for another horn if the right one comes along, and my Keilwerth (of sorts) has been just amazing. That sound!

For such a beautiful sax, a better acoustic situation is needed, not the dry, unpleasant one offered. Aside from me - the Shadow sx90r has got to be one of the best-looking saxes ever!!!

This horn has had my interest captured for quite some time now. Unfortunately, I can't get over the price... Can you offer any explanation as to why this horn goes for so much money? And does the horn really play for what it's worth?

I could get a used one in excellent condition for as little as $52 a month. Is it worth it?

Is this the Saxophone that Eddie Money used on the song "I wanna go back?"" I am trying to find the one he played as a local player is looking to recreate the performance. Please let me know if you can.

At the beginning of the video there are four saxophones on the right of the screen. Does anyone know what the leftmost of those is? It's very attractive

Perhaps a P. Mauriat ST 86 - just a guess

I am sorry, this video doesn't do the Keilwerth justice. Maybe a bad reed, MPC or something. These horns are canons.
