Julius Malema: "There is nothing anti-white about the EFF”

EFF leader, Julius Malema is an advocate for redistributing land and argues that only white supremacists believe the party and its policies are anti-white.
Some of the priorities of the party include the expropriation of land without compensation and the nationalisation of strategic sectors of the economy.

We have 7 million tax payers money in this country. If we open our borders to the rest of africa, whose liable to pay for all the services required to run a country? the tax payers?. To clarify on the second point, I believe what the EFF mean in this regard is that they want to make the continent more accessible for it's people, so the borders will remain as a point of control and they'll still have policies in place to mitigate against crime.

Borders do hinder access though - 64% of our own people live below the ppoverty line, which means those 64%, 41% of coloured people too, so that means they are not likely to ever see any part of the continent because they can't afford to pay the R1500-00+ for a passport, even if people like ourselves perhaps, wanted to take them to a ski-resort in Lesotho for a weekend. Also, SA isn't even in the top 10 for most migrant friendly countries in the world, so we aren't as migrant friendly as you think, unless you were refering to illegal migrants? In which case I can't comment cause I have not done any reading on the matter. I know a few South Africans who are curious about moving to the fastest growing economies on the continent (Niger, Senegal, Libya, Rwanda, Cote d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Benin , Djibouti, Tanzania, Togo, and Uganda) - I have a family member who moved to East Africa because of career opportunities, if I know a few, and I'm not a very social person, then I'd imagine there's a decent amount of South African's who'd move to other African countries, I know I would. I think SA's are arrogant and quite ignorant in thinking the rest of the continent has nothing to offer when they have sooooo much - my wife has family in Zambia and yes they have their challenges as country, but they still have a lot to offer. Wrt the UK not having interest in our economy - I'm currently residing in the UK and they have interest in our economy and those that don't, it's because of their ignorance in buying into the images media portrays of Africa as needing a white saviour. Also, they did colonise us and continue to exploit us to this day so I'd argue their interest actually goes without saying. Wrt the borders, I agree with you, we do need top-notch security at our borders, but they mustn't be a hinderence for people to come and go, especially if they are law-abiding, so I'm with you there. I think if we can take the message the Springboks have taught us the 4 World Cups we've won and the message our captain has punted the last few years (Stronger Together) and apply it on a continental level, we would dwarf the Americas and EU - we would easily be in contention as being one of the world's super powers and leading economies. Is it idealistic to think of a Unified Africa? Absolutely! It was also idealistic to dream of a democratic South Africa.

The consumer needs the financial relief. Yes profit margins will not be as extensive for the elite, but that’s not a bad thing in the greater scheme of things. The first thing that comes to mind is the excessive fees in banking. A state-owned bank will challenge the monopoly of the banks in South Africa and make it more accessible for the majority. Have you considered how much of our population cannot afford to bank because of fees? Secondly, state-owned banks can challenge the monopoly of investment firms in our country. Investment firms that manage the bulk of the pensions of people working in the public sector. No-one wins except for the investment bankers. Imagine if this could be different. In mining, we can challenge De Beers’ domination of our diamonds. We can build our own smelters to export finished goods at a premium instead of concentrates and raw ore. Whether we like it or not, our country is owned internationally and prices/markets are fixed for the largest part to make profits in international currencies. The South African consumer always ends up paying the cost.
