Whenever i pass near Tanzania embassy in Kampala Uganda i take seconds to salute Nyerere for building a nation and a pride of East Africa.
@voiceofreason86044 жыл бұрын
Nyerere was a man of integrity and principle. Nyerere didn’t steal his Nations resources, he sent his children to State schools, he didn’t indulge in nepotism. He created a coherent Nation State, with a common language and universal education and healthcare. He is revered in Tanzania, as a Father if His People, with affection. He was a Great Man and a great leader.

People who seize on the failure of Ujamaa tend to forget that Nyerere's real legacy was national cohesion, and it's a legacy that has stood Tanzanians in good stead while all around nations succumbed to the diabolism of tribalism and cliquism.

Sure!!! Having achieved national unity, the coming generations must observe carefully what they build on that foundation.
@helenikua17902 жыл бұрын
@@anthonygikuri Yes, but the parallels between unity in Tanzania and unity in Kenya are not quite there. National unity in Nyerere's Tanzania was organic and de-ethnicized and not similar to the temporary anti-people alliances that are formed amongst Kenya's politicians.

Such a wise man. It is unfortunate that Africa has lost all its great leaders but it doesn't mean we as a people cannot continue the work these revolutionaries started. We the people, must organize for our own liberation. We have the words, teachings, books of the likes of Nyerere, Nkrumah, Toure etc. We gotta use that and complete the work. Africa must be free and it must be strong. That can only happen through continental unity and embracing socialisme.

Julius Kambarage Nyerere was cleverest president in Africa, he was an activist of socialism policy and education for self reliance; the guy fought for it, stood for it, believed on it and so on, what came to bring the differences is shortage of good understanding among many people in our society when it came on the issue of implementations of what the deceased one intended them to know and build out of it.
