Thanks for sharing your insights on Japan generally. I watched a few of your videos, very helpful. In this video, slightly confused about the taxi. Getting into the taxi you said, you used Go app, but once inside you said you hailed on the street. Not being pedantic, just want clarity that you can hail as well. Also, how much cash (Yen) one should carry in hand or just use ATMs to withdraw? Or one can get away with using cards.
@TravelwithPrateekАй бұрын
Hi! We called for a taxi from the app but the wait time was a lot so we took a meter taxi instead. Its very easy to do so. ATMs are available in each 7eleven so you don't have to carry a lot of cash, we used pur credit card for most purchases and it should work for you as long as you have the tap enabled. Enjoy your trip!

Hi prateek this is kamal from calgary Canada.. travelling next month to Japan for 10 days.. which JR pass your bought whole JR or regional JR kansai pass? Which JR pass would be convenient for us our route is Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and back to Tokyo.. please advise
@TravelwithPrateek2 ай бұрын
Hi Kamal! We got the whole JR wide pass. Its only useful if you are doing multiple cities and will be using Shinkansen bullet trains. I am making a detailed video on this and will share by Wednesday! Hope it will be useful!
@kkumarsan2 ай бұрын
Thanks 🙏 prateek
@MrsOz-vf7et2 ай бұрын
@@kkumarsan Your answer lies in the question. The JR Kansai Area Pass is specifically designed for the Kansai region, allowing unlimited travel on local JR trains and buses in the areas surrounding Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe, as well as on the Haruka limited express train to and from Kansai Airport. For travel beyond this scope, a Japan Rail Pass (often referred to as the JR Pass) would be necessary. Due to the significant price increase in October 2023, it's important to evaluate the costs to determine if it will be advantageous for you. When I traveled back in 2007, it was quite affordable, but I chose not to pursue it in 2024. There are numerous other trains available between cities that don’t require a JR pass, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Depending on your arrival location, you can obtain an IC card and easily recharge it as needed. This card is accepted in virtually every city and mode of transportation, which means the IC card you purchase in Tokyo or Osaka will be usable in both cities and beyond.
