Try to use a very soft tip rod like an ugly stick for drifting next time. Also, bleeding the fish will make best tasting meat. always fun watching your videos.

Switch from single hook to treble when using bigger live bait. Let the fish take the bait then reel down instead of setting the hook because there a chance of pulling the hook.

I tried using treble hook as a stinger hook and it appears to be more effective as you stated. However, it gets tangled easily and more difficult to store away once the fishing trip is done. Let them eat the bait and count to ten and stop setting the hook! Worst thing you can do when drifting live bait. Just reel down to the fish slow ly.

I tried using circle hook, counting to ten and reel down. I didn’t work for me. Since I switched to two octopus hooks and setting the hook, my success rate has increased. That’s just my opinion. @@JUNationFishing for circle hooks I recommend reeling in to set the hook, that has worked best for me. Also let them to eat the bait. Setting too hard pulls the bait out the stripers mouth
