History, great food and wine, scenic sights all around: It's hard not to go (and return) to Saumur, "the Pearl of the Anjou."
I knew Saumur would be the perfect place to share July 14 celebrations. Saumur did not disappoint!
Join me on a night-time stroll from the former heart of the historic Medieval Center to the mighty Château de Saumur, the ideal vantage point to watch the (excellent) fireworks show that capped festivities in this peaceful corner of the Loire Valley.

Very nice as always. Can never get enough of the history you share. We will visit Saumur again in a few months as we make our way from Amboise to friends in Vendee. Are missing Tours this year but have enjoyed your lovely city on 4 previous trips.
