I miss WTTG. I grew up watching TV5 via cable. I grew up near Fayetteville, NC. Thanks to Cablevision, I got to watch alot dealing with Washington DC and surrounding areas. Of course big major national events cause its was the nation's capitol city. Thanks for posting this great television memory.

0:19 "Alright! Do Michael jackson!" Absolute genius! However, I do not miss that voice over at 0:28.

In the background at 1:34, an old school Prince George's County Public School bus similar to the one that I used to ride to Panorama Special Center (Now Panorama Elementary School) when I first started going to school in the fall of 1986. Every bus in the county had the 3 digit route number in the second window of the bus which they still do to this day. Also, I'm a native Washingtonian and I grew up with channel 5 which was one of my channels to watch after I got home from school alongside WDCA 20.

From some of these spots, you can hear longtime Channel 5 staff announcer Paul Hallett. Interestingly, Boston's Channel 5 (WCVB) also used the "Channel 5 And You" campaign at the time. Hallett worked at Five from 1963-85, just before Fox bought the station from Metromedia in 1986.

Any idea who the jingle/image package company was?

@@AlavonMajorMy first guess would be Edd Kalehoff, who was a resident composer at Goodson-Todman Productions. Edd wrote many of their game show themes, and Edd also composed music packages for stations owned by Westinghouse and others.

That's because WCVB in Boston was also owned by Metromedia at that time. it was later sold to Hearst.

It was probably commissioned by the company that owned both WTTG and WCVB. I grew up with thr WCVB version myself in Northern Rhide Island.
