Progress isn't linear. You managed an incredible feat for last month and were very intentional and aware as you did so. While not ideal, I think this is a good outcome and something you can be proud of. And as you said, things should stabilise if not improve in August. And as others have said, you used the emergency fund for its exact purpose. You're doing great and I'm cheering you on :)

Don’t be discouraged! My wife had major surgery back in December of last year and our progress went backwards for DEC 2023 & JAN 2024 after draining our emergency fund. But we have since made lots of progress. Life happens & we keep going focused with a plan 😊👍🏼

Your emergency fund is for times like these, its great you had it to help keep from going further backwards. It sucks having to start over building that back up, but I'd definitely make that my priority once your husband's income adds to your ability to put money towards the essentials 😊 Good job! 🎉

We bought a home to move into for my son moving into kindergarten. In retrospect I wish I could have given him preschool too-but at the time it was not going to happen. he’s a senior this year and I’m very thankful we bought when we did. It’s tough at there
