Please do more of these experience videos. Loved it. Your experience reminds me of one I recently had when I saw Bullitt at the Castro Theater in San Francisco. The crowd and I had the same excitement.

Greetings from Nepal Daisuke!!! You seem like a kid visiting Disneyland in the video outside the theatre, it's lovely that you got to watch these amazing films on the big screen, absolutely love your passion for movies.

When you came out for your break, I think I had a smile as large as yours. Happy you're in SoCal, and happy you got to see the films on the "big screen". I live 60 miles from that theatre, and haven't been there yet. I'm a "local" and already jealous of you. Haha.

Hello from Wales. Me and my wife are about to embark on our movie experience again. It's been many years since we went to a movie in a cinema. However, we have found a little place called the Brynamman Cinema, which opened the same year as the New Beverly Cinema. We hope to catch Oppenheimer there next week. Until then, I hope you enjoy your exploration of LA.

Welcome to California Daisuke. The repertory theater scene in LA is straight up magical. That’s a damn good double feature to have your first experience here as well.

Glad that you went to an independent art house cinema in Los Angeles for the first time. When you go to one again, go there when there is a guest at a screening because you can engage with them and also learn more about how a film is made. By the way, they're showing, "The Hateful 8", on 70mm film at The New Beverly Cinema soon. That is a film that has to be seen in a theatre.

Daisuke!! Yes!! What you express in this video is so relatable! It was magical to listen to you share your first experience with cinema in L.A.! You've added such weight to these legendary films and when I have the great opportunity to watch them I will have these comments of yours in my heart. Thank you so much! May this theater one day show Once Upon a Time in America also. Living vicariously through you and your description of this epic theater experience has made my day! You are always keeping fuel in the cinema gas tank to keep me moving on my cinema journey, my friend. May you continue to enjoy many more cinematic experiences while you are in L.A.! I keep getting the urge to re-watch L.A. Confidential! "You're in the city of angels and you haven't got any wings..." Lol!! Soon you will be telling us of the role you got in an upcoming film!!! You're the man, Daisuke! Cheers!

It is a dream of mine to visit the New Beverly. I download the calendar every month and try to recreate their lineup in my home cinema. Not as great as being there live, but I'm in Tennessee and not going to be anywhere near LA any time soon. In fact, I'm just about to pop in Nights of Cabiria since that's what is showing right now at the New Beverly.

Really living the dream of us Cinephiles, you made me regret my quick trip to LA! I had a chance to go pick up some gear in LA I requested to stay in Hollywood and I was WALKING DISTANCE from the Chinese Theater (though I do recall there being some lack luster movies showing at the time) BUT, if I had thought to go to the New Beverly I would have.

Welcome to Los Angeles, Daisuke. You seem to have hit the major sources of physical media. And you found the Beverly Cinema. After I moved here in 1980, I saw 120 movies in 6 months. The Fox and The Nuart theaters also used to have discount double bills. One Sunday, I saw two double headers, including Tess. Let's get together. I'm in Hollywood.

So wonderful to hear your first movie going experience in LA was such a memorable one! And I'm pleased LA life seems to be suiting you and your cinema journey so beautifully. I'm just wondering if you might be able to recommend some Spaghetti Western movies to someone like myself who is a fan of the Dollars Trilogy but has yet to delve too deeply into the genre itself. Cheers my friend 👍

Hi Diasuke I am subscribed to your channel and want to recommend that while you are in Los Angeles you should go and see Oppenheimer in 70 mm IMAX I heard it is absolutely magnificent in this format when you have a chance you are in movie land now so every theater and movie house is going to be something special because Los Angeles takes their films very seriously. Thanks for you love of film and your channel

Ahh so jealous! Have always wanted to go, but admittedly am lazy to make the hour drive to go there. Also I'm so used to driving around in the suburbs/smaller cities that LA traffic gives me anxiety. One day!

That's wonderful that you got a hero's welcome there, although not surprising! I'm so glad it was such a great experience for you. And yes, the staff is wonderful. If you ever encounter a talker or cell phone user there, just go to the lobby and report it and they will immediately take care of it. I wish all theaters were that serious about providing a good experience for the patrons. Usually if a screening is sold out online, getting there an hour and a half early should do, but it sounds like the line was huge. Unless the line is to the corner, there's usually no problem getting in. Truthfully, even if you get into stand-by, you still have a decent chance. In all my years of going there, I've never not gotten in. They try very hard to find space for everyone. Also, there's always plenty of free street parking on Formosa and in the surrounding neighborhood. Another reason I love the Bev. I've got tickets for "Escape From New York" / "Total Recall" next week. Perhaps I will see you there!

Hearing about the experience first hand, I can say that this is a moment that will always be etched into Daisy he's mind. Given the cinema culture in L.A., I can see a lot of common ground here! And I'm sure there will b many more moments like this! I can say I've never had a cinema experience like this! Glad you liked it!

Seeing original prints of the Leone films with the exception of the edits made to the final three is the only way to see them properly especially given their decades of mishandling. I’ve only gotten to see the 2007 Fistful print, 2003 GBU print, MGM’s DYS print and best of all MGM’s lone studio print of FAFDM which was a usa 1967 release print with the slight UA edit and one pink shot but was otherwise IB Tech and absolutely majestic.

So glad you had such a good experience at the New Bev there is so many more good movies to come im positive you’ll have more. My first time there i saw Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull which was also my first time seeing a movie on actual film! That left me with a similar feeling. Anyways i hope to maybe meet you someday at a movie. Welcome to LA 😁

I love the theater picks, the staff is always friendly. But the crowd is always a gamble because there's always a few hopeless idiots that unfortunately go. For example I went to see The Thing. Some idiot kept yelling YEAH for every small thing. I had to shoosh him. Later that same loser that was cheerleader in the beginning fell asleep and started snoring, 3 times. Someone's phone rang, and a person's bottle loudly rolled a far distance on the floor. I really hate some of the people that go and are incapable of considering the experience of others and make the showing totally about themselves.

I think you should say "Greetings from LA" because LA has two syllables just like Tokyo, so it will roll onto my ears better than "Greetings from Los Angeles"
@omeshsingh8091
@omeshsingh8091 Жыл бұрын
p.s. When English-speakers people say Tokyo they say "Tow-key-yo" which is three syllables but when you say Tokyo you say "Toh-Kyo" so it comes across as just two syllables.
