Any tips on how to hook onto a big shark for sure I am going to Long Island this week?

In the description you mean 'non-stainless steel' circle hooks

From personal experience, the offset vs non-offset DOES make a difference in terms of gut hooking. I used to get sick of releasing so many bass in good years that were gut hooked on 8/0 octopus offset circles. I pretty much stopped fishing, but I have been told that non-offset (in-line) circles really do not gut hook fish at all. For those with no experience but with an opinion.

@@dsm5d723 It's true. In-line circle hooks are the way to go and personally I've noticed a minimal difference in hook up ratios.

@@CattermanAdventures I would shred my hands on the gill rakes of striped bass getting back offset circles; some nights the pricks won't swallow and you must freespool for a while. I wish I knew back then. The non-stainless is the rust-out factor obviously.

Question, Do you find yourself getting wind knots in your braid when you use a uni-knot with your drop loop leader and jigs in the 1/8 to 1/4 oz. ??

No wind knots using this rig with the right conditions. If the conditions don’t allow use of the smaller jig go a little heavier and you will avoid issues. -MB
