I guess some books just resonate with some people more than others. Given that you enjoy historical fiction, you may like The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon. It is based on a true story, and I loved it. Happy reading 📚

I’m reading Summer of Yes right now and really enjoying it! I like the idea of the Chestnut Spring series setting, but I’m not crazy about the level of open door scenes - I might have to look up Mandie Blake instead!

I have never read Bookshop by the Sea, it is on my tbr. Denise Hunter has a series called the Riverbend Series. I would honestly recommend the series. I do think the 2nd book is a bit better than the 1st, but you want to read them in order. I really like Denise Hunter so I hope this series could sway you to like her writing. But if not, than I won't cry for very long lol

I couldn't even write a proper review for Reckless because while the ending did surprise me, I totally agree that the rest of the book was repetitive and slow. I will read the next one though purely for the banter and chemistry 😅

Also, as someone who has read her fair share of Denise Hunter I will say Bookshop By the Sea is by far my least favorite as well. It's not her best at all. I'd say try the Riverbend Gap series or Summer Harbor Series. Book 1 of summer harbor is actually set in the winter so maybe a good time to start in a few months? Sorry you didn't enjoy your read, and I hope the next one you try you do
