i. interested in buying your dvd. does it cover how to find morning spikes and shorts, that seems to be my biggest problem. i recently start using free scanners. I want to learn pre market preparation and identify spikes shorts etc..
@kroyrunner898 жыл бұрын
Buying morning spikes isn't really a strategy of mine. However, it does discuss shorting in the morning, which happens often in a couple of my specific strategies. If you get it, hope you enjoy, and be sure to use the coupon mentioned in the comments section!
@dbask8018 жыл бұрын
Tim Grittani so would you say its more money in shorting . im paper trading , morning i pit in for mjna and mcig and they both spike down and i lost around 280 on each, if i was shorting i would of made at least 500 in a half hour. i really dont have a strategy im justvlooking for the best way that keeps making money. i was going to buy either yours or tims dvd but money is real low so im trying to figure out which one is the best for me
@CasMarks8 жыл бұрын
I've seen most of Tim Sykes DVDs and also Tim Grittani's. This Tim is more clear in his approach in the DVD so I would suggest his over Tim Sykes if you were picking one or the other.

@anicolas9908 жыл бұрын
amazing man, congratulations! I wanna know your opinion: I have a small account 2k (it was 4k but I made some beginner mistakes ), so lately I only watch the market to feel more comfortable and improve. Ive listened from Tim, that I should be able to do shorts and longs, but I feel my most consistent pattern is the short after a morning spike. What do you recommend? Should I start trading right away with my small account or increase the size of my account and meanwhile watch the market to feel more comfortable? Thanks man, take care and awesome job!!
@cody_rightnow61378 жыл бұрын
hey I saw your comment and wanted to reply. I've made some mistakes too, but I've found that smaller sizes basing risk off your account size (% values) is working for me. for instance I'm using a 20k account working towards 25k to avoid pdt. and I used to just jump in a % winner with 2k-3k shares and going for a 10-20 cent move. but I found that when I was wrong it crushed all my gains. I would lose 40-50 cents. I'm now trading much smaller, 250-500 shares and basing my risk off of 1% of my account or 200$. so on a 250 share position my risk is roughly 80cents and on a 500 share position it's 40 cents. this allows me to watch the chart develop and aim for an overnight hold. it's working really well for me so far even though my profits aren't as big as I would like, but the key to remember is money is secondary to good trading. I had the wrong idea to start, always aiming to make 250-500$ but not measuring my risk level. and like Sykes and grittanti both say it may work a few times but the one wrong time will destroy your gains or even your account. that's the best advice I can give you I hope your trading goes well and always keep learning. the success isn't in the destination, but in the journey. cheers

+Cody Yearn really helpful, I'm dealing with the same problem, thanks man!
@cody_rightnow61378 жыл бұрын
+valdo240 no problem man! another recommendation is getting Sykes stocksto trade software. but if you can't afford it, you can do the work manually by following these steps. search NASDAQ% gainers for the day, then see what caused the move (technical breakout, earnings, news) using that as a catalyst. next is to check the float of the stock, which can be found on yahoo finance under the statistics option (I use the yahoo finance app it's pretty helpful) next thing is to just play the price action! watch for volume and aim to buy Dips when the chart builds support. a tip that I've just recently learned is the red and green candles are indictations of what's to come. remember that red candles are simply more sellers than buyers, so the sellers are selling into the bid. if the stock is green on the day or positive % gain and the red candles force it down after a spike but it holds higher than it opened, it's a good sign that the stock can rebound and keep running. that's where the green candles come in. the opposite of the red candles, green mean there is more buyers than sellers and buyers are buying into the ask price. this can be caused by shorts buying to cover, and momentum buyers piggy backing the price action. a really good example of this would be CRC today support at 8.80. I was looking to short this but didn't because it failed to break that level. it then ran up to 10$ on a squeeze. another example is HMNY which squeezed from 8 to 16 today. start with smaller positions until you get comfortable in the market. I wanted to make a lot of $$$ right out the gate but didn't really know what I was doing and suffered some losses. the key is to just keep learning and never give up! stay up my friend

Hi Tim, I recently saw your blog post on how to run scans. I used this post tradetheticker.blogspot.com/2014/02/watchlist-for-february-24-2014.html. However, when I ran the scan using Equity Feed it only returned 11 results. Is this normal depending on how markets are? I excluded NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX like you said in your post. If you could reply back it would be much appreciated
@kroyrunner898 жыл бұрын
unfortunately the OTC market is pretty much dead now compared to back when i wrote that post. i now trade mainly nasdaqs and you can find those scan parameters in my 2014 vegas speech slides
