Yeah most people miss the gun shop clerk asking if he is a postal worker. See back in the 90s there were several cases of overworked postal workers snapping and shooting up where they worked. That's actually the origin of the term "going postal"

The board game is like a black hole. 26 years passed in the game but only 5 minutes passed in the real world (when Alan is a boy) because his father said he was gone for 5 minutes after realizing he forgot his notes.

Correction. It's the reverse of a black hole. Otherwise you'd expect merely seconds to pass in the game but decades to pass in real life.

Funny story. When this movie came out, my wife and I took my son to see this. And although there were a few scary parts, he seemed to really enjoyed it. The next time I got a weekend of custody with him, we went to Toys R Us to see about getting him a video game. We happened to pass by the board games section when I pointed to a particular game. “Hey son, look, it’s the game Jumanji. Do you want to buy it?” When he turned and saw the game, he quickly shook his head and said, “No.” But oh man, you should have seen the frightened look on his face! My wife and I still laugh about that moment.

From birth to 13 girls, as a group, grow faster than boys, but then slow down. Boys lap them, usually between 13 and 5, then surpass and can still be growing a bit past 21. Sarah and Allen are probably very close in age. In order at about 11, give or take , rapid growth for girls follows this pattern. Hands and feet, breast and hip expansion ( that's why kids this age are a bit pudgy; they need the raw material), the long bones in arms and legs. Girl are at their weakest at 14, because they haven't mastered the new elongated muscle and her skeleton won't be completely ossified.
