The top is hot dog wood. It's nicely painted firewood. BTW, most string winders have a bridge pin tool built in.

yes.... not sure what asmr means but if you are referring to the fans... yes, you are right... I mentioned it in the video.... the problem I have is that if I try to filter out the sound of the fans then the video sounds weird.... :-) I use FCP and the remove hiss function is faulty...

Maybe 'solid wood' as opposed to 'Laminated wood' which is common on lower-end guitars

Did you ever determine what kind of wood the top actually is? My first thought was the "flame maple" was "printed" on.

@@mattrogers1946 I never heard that phrase before, but I assume you mean is is a process whereby whatever is left over form other wood processing is formed into a shet laminate, with the outer one having a "pattern" to it?

@@brucerothwell7944 If that top is flamed maple, I'm the king of old Siam... It's a veneer or a printed top, which is basically a big sticker glued over the top. Slave labor at it's finest...🤷‍♂️

and rightly so.... I have had at least two that I have advised the owner to send them back and they did. It is hit and miss.

While I have your attention have you serviced any of the Harley Benton 12 string acoustics or the new models of Eko Ranger 12's?

@@jreagle58 I have and they are 'fine' My concern about them is, as you mentioned, longevity. They are made from slightly inferior woods so the tension of the 12 strings 'could', and I say 'could' be a problem in a year or two. Yet, that could be said for any of the lower priced 12 strings. (Not much help to you sorry.)
