I like that you picked Vaevictus Asmadi feels like a nice left field choice since it seems like lots of people want Arcades, but that deck seems a little too simple (LOL can't wait to make a wall deck). I can't wait to see what you do with Chromium, the T-1000 of dragons or even Nico Bolas flipwalker; I love that there is another flipwalker but that pre-order price tag, ouch! ;)

Primal surge is great and I have personally seen Lurking Predators win quite a few games of MTG in my day - very powerful card. If we're doing lands matter I can't help but want to put Dakmoor Salvage in there too! I'm torn between re-buidling the Ur-Dragon or building a Baevictis - i'll keep you informed :)

Library of Leng might be really good in the deck when used with Greater Good. Sac something big, draw a bunch of cards, then discard what you want to cheat into play, to the top of your deck. Would work better with other discard effects, preferably that hit the opponent in some way, like Malfegor.

Considered doing jund dragon tribal since I don’t want multiple 5 color deck (already have jodah walkers). But the landfall aspect is very desirable. Very tempted to do that, event though I have multiple landfall decks haha.

I have 2 5 colour decks: Spirits and 5 colour Dragon; 5 colour Dragon is AMAZING though! LOL My Ur Dragon has taken people out with a single Tainted Strike, or got permanent attack phases, putting out multiple lands and dragons every attack phase, the deck just quickly snowballs. 5 colours just seems to be super flexible and is not that hard as it seems to make:P

You kind of alluded to it but Asmadi is really awesome because you can hit powerful utility lands from your opponents. Goodbye Cabal Coffers, Maze of Ith, and Gae’s Cradle. That in my opinion is what makes this dragon a Jund EDH staple.

I don't run mortuary mire i run volrath's stronghold its an effect you pay for but its reusable and does everything you want which is basically turns vaevictus asmadi the dire into vaevictus asmadi the recycler giving me a great graveyard strategy the only problem is its pricetag but honestly its able to synergize so well it is worth it

I really enjoy this deck and have built it exactly as in video from my own cards despite scroll rack and a couple others.... But I keep getting land hosed. I don't know why but every time I play it I am always lacking in Mana department. I have even tried altering it to have 10 Mana ramp cards with 40 lands. Any advice?

I would really like to make a Vaevictis deck, but I really can't afford the permanents recommended here to manipulate the top of my library like Divining Top, Sylvan Library or Scroll Rack. Are there any budget options that people might suggest to use instead?

I know this is a little to late, but i like to jam things like aid from the cowl, haunted crossroads and a lot of monarch cards because if i cant manipulate the top of my deck i just try to go deeper and draw into more gas or put important things from my gy into the top Scry is also good, things like lifecrafters bestiary can help a lot But i must say that if you build the deck with a good ratio of permanents you will almost never fail to find something (id recomend a lot of ramp based on permanents like enchantments, 1 and 2 cmc dorks and rocks, and etb ramp like wood elves and farhaven elf)

No idea if you'd see this or not, but was wondering if you'd have any thoughts on Selvala 2.0 and Sunbird's Invocation in a deck for our new Jund Elder? Big mana, fun flips? I've yet to find a great home for either of them in a more casual setting - Drana 1.0, Alesha and Sigarda, Heron's Grace all are focused elsewhere. I've fiddled with Xenagod but never loved the deck, so wondering if Jund could be the answer? Meld my black heart and Gruul soul?

Glad to have you! This could be a really good fit. There needs to be a lot of mana in these big decks. Selvala is that big mana but it's a little bit tricky because it requires you to jump through a few hoops to get it. I think this could be the commander for you ... although Xenagod may be strong so what does black bring to the table beside the commander? The deck I built was a little heavy on the green; so ramp and balance will be key. GOOD LUCK BREWING! Sounds fun.

Jumbo Commander my first thought was just janky grixis good stuff. Big and flashy fun. Kind of a spell heavy deck since that’s kind of his thing. I think discard control could work but does he enable that enough by just discarding a card when he enters. Deadeye could go well but you lack a lot of blinks without white.

you know i wish there was a card in magic similar to greaves but gave the creature -2/-0 or something, like haste and protection for the cost of a bit of power, maybe even haste indestructible and maybe -3/-0 so we can play commanders like this for a bit more fun and have people slightly more okay with being attacked by a giant dragon...... (also in this case so we can attack twice as often to get more triggers)

Chronium is my favorite elder dragon from the new set, basically because he is such a hard target to get rid of (and will be a control finisher in the standard format), I can see how he wouldn't make a great commander tho. He is finding a slot in my esper Sen Triplets deck for sure tho.

I still feel prossh is the strongest lands matter general in jund because of his cast trigger. You'll have tons of lands, why not get enough tokens to fuel your commander and have a strong synergy deck that works without him? This new dragon does seem good, but I still prefer prossh for the general with the jund lands

oh lol. I ended up winning anyway. One of the other players cast Collective Voyage, and I was much better set up to use the extra mana than anyone else. Belzenlok is ridiculous card advantage - I got him bounced a few times and always drew at least 4 cards. Also assembled the 3 land matter creatures, which was awesome! Really sweet deck! Going through it now to get the budget down a bit. Thanks for the reply!
