I think some of the issues were obvious. Didn't really understand the hype. I love anime, I love most of these shounen series, but my first issue was the visuals. I hate it! Then the gameplay... yes it's way too casual for my taste. I can see myself having fun but not for a long time. I had the same issues with CyberConnect2's Naruto games. They actually looks beautiful, but the characters felt the same. Yes, they all had their trademark moves but they weren't unique enough. Cut-scenes looked bad but they turned out to be even worse than I expected.

True, but DAMN, his eyes are TOO big even for Deku, like bruh, I feel like I'm looking at a plushy and not Deku, I really wish his eyes were just a little bit smaller like Asta's, and why did they give Deku a pointy nose even for an anime, his nose and eyes make me think of a pig, look at it closely hopefully someone gets what I mean lol. I really like Midoriya and MHA, so it's a bit of a shame they messed up his character a little bit. Everything else about him is cool though, I love all his abilities except his awakening/ultimate feels really stiff at times, still cool though. Honestly the best part is seeing all the green sparks and just the visuals.

So basically this game is what most of us thought it was looking a early footage. It's a pretty thin, visual marvel that appeals to Shonen Jump fans (or fans of any particular anime within Shonen Jump) simply by bringing the iconic characters together. All that said that doesn't have to be a bad thing, not every fighting game has to be a super mechanically deep competitive game. It might not have a super long life but right now I think there's fun to be had in it.

Imo I think I can see why they didn't add swords as all the swords user have thier own fighting style (zoro, ichigo, renji) but they could have at least let us use our own fighting style that could go into all the team's. I’d give it a solid 7/10 & say it’s a great treat for hard fans + it houses a lot of potential for the future. I had my copy paid off months ago so I’ll say this: If your ok with what this released as then hold onto your copy as a fun / mess around fighter and check back ever update / dlc & see what they bring. Totally, agreed. Nice score for this game, hype only for the game and I'm kinda disappointed. One of the many thing that needed for me: characters, compared the first J-Stars and J stars VS (PS4), that on the first had a shit-ton of characters to chose from and all playable, and on the second the same but mostly assist, JF just got the main anime series + recent due to popularity in... because. The game is not awful, not good, just...MEH. Personally, the kind of game I'll play with friends out of boredom. I'll rather play J-Stars VS (even though I hate the huge split-screen on that game), instead of this game. So, again, I agree with your score: 4-5/10

I never liked the whole thing about arena fighter devs not letting their games be "competitive". Not necessarily because I wanna see one at tournaments, even though I do, but because at least in my opinion, having a game with actual depth is just more fun than a shallow, flashy button masher. There's so much more you can do, more to discover, and it just makes learning and winning feel so much more rewarding. Hell, I'd even argue that these games could be even flashier if they did add some type of depth to them. Honestly, I feel like arena fighters have a lot of potential, but it seems like either Bamco or the actual devs just don't give enough of a shit. Or they're just incapable. As for the rest of the game; it's about what I expected. At this point, I'm just interested in dicking around with CAC a bit and seeing who I can recreate.

After watching several KZbinrs playing this, Jump Force seems fun actually *excluding the story lol feels alot like FighterZ. Imo the best Jump game till date is the Jump Ultimate Stars. It's kinda repetitive also, but has plenty of room for improvements.

I watched the cutscenes of the story mode, I played the open beta and I have to say I'm still interested in getting this game. Is it perfect? No. Does the story mode have flaws? Yes. Globku puts up a good point that the missions can be repetitive, but I like the story mode for its premise and character interactions, I also like the twist with the main villain. While I wish there were more characters added, it's a decent roster for its size with nine more to be added soon, hopefully we'll get more than that in the future. I find the combat system to be cool and easy to understand. The customization with the creator character looks cool too, despite some minor flaws. To me, Jump Force isn't perfect but still a decent game. P.S. If you don't like what I said here, I don't care, everyone is entitled to their opinions.

I got this game tbh its a 4/10 maybe a 5.5/10 if you really want to be a fan boy. It has cool concept but it lacks a lot in execution and i think j stars was better. The cac is a waste of a character. Cant customize clothes and over half of the skills in the game aren't available for cac for example no stands no doujutsu no swords no guns no tailed beast. Pretty much anything in game that is really cool your cac cannot do

I’m pretty sure the reason you can’t put certain moves on your character is because they require either a transformation or a second character like a stance in Jotaro’s case or a summon in Yugi’s case.

Iideas, 1) Add free items for custom character. 2) Add clothes for characters that change combos only, maybe change special attack effects, but not damage, speed or anything. 3) Have something like from Splatoon where you pick a side and fight the enemy side, give a reward to both sides, but an extra reward to winning side. 4) Update animations every once and a while or just have a patch for that. 5) Fix some mechanics in game and features. 6) Be able to pick what your character says at the start and end of a match and be able to buy taunts.

Personally I’m defending this game for these reasons 1. Fun gameplay and a wide variety of attacks 2. Decent fan service from all of my favorite anime 3. You do loose rank. For example I ranked down from C tier to D earlier today 4. Fantastic Artstyle and great graphics for an anime game 5. Decent RPG mechanics 6. Excellent customization 7. I wish they had more game modes like tournament or endless modes. I knew the game wouldn’t be all that because it’s the same combat like Burning Blood and people didn’t like that game. People complained about graphics in anime games and roster size. No one wanted to say anything about gameplay, story mode or servers. I was... unusually agrivated by the Mira (sorry, *"Kane"* ) fight. Not because it was too difficult, quite the opposite. I think he managed to take nearly 10% of my health during the entire match, I practically floored him. Then suddenly (a.k.a. after a long loading screen), the cutscene is just everyone telling me how weak I am, I stood no chance, they'll hold him off while I escape with my tale between my legs, etc, etc. IF YOU'RE GONNA MAKE ME LOSE, THEN AT LEAST MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO LOSE!!! Raise the opponent's level beyond mine, give him rapid healing, make him less predictable. Make it a battle that's impossible to win, then play the cutscene after I actually LOSE!!!

I bought Jump Force, I don’t regret it. It’s a fun game to play, some of the mechanics are annoying but I can live with it. But I don’t think it’s a great game, when I first bought it and put a few hours in and got halfway through the story I decided to give it a rating out of 10. It’s a 6/10. Minus one for the awful story, minus one for some of the absurd fighting mechanics, minus one for the constant loading screens and minus one for the oddly massive hub world. But it’s fun to see some of the most iconic characters in anime all in one game, and the particle effects and the awakening attacks are cool too. Essentially, I'd say pvp gameplay is a 9/10, roster 9/10, show accuracy 9/10, story 3/10, pve gameplay 1/10, character customization 5/10. Depends on what you wanted the game for.

I really hope they completely rethink the direction of this game series for a potential Jump Force 2. Could you imagine a legitimate competitive fighting game with your favorite anime characters? So close to the dream, yet so far away. Neat, I think the most fun I had with a crossover JUMP game was the DS title JUMP Ultimate Stars,that game had 56 playable character but 300 in total, like wow thats a lotta love for JUMP as a whole even if most were just assists. I didnt even unlock most of them till me and my roommate were on our 3rd playthrough. What we need is the Banpresto team at Bandai Namco who do the SRW games to do a human JUMP focused game. A story focused rpg JUMP game that isnt a fighting game, not every JUMP crossover game needs to be a fighting one, how many people want to hear "Head cha la"(DBZ) or "The Day"(My Hero) remixed for rpg battles.

Sometimes I wish the gaming industry had crazy set laws for each genre or something like that. For instance a fighting game developer should buy law have to keep the game balanced for a minimum period like va year or 2 or 3 or 5. I don't know the time. But hopefully if they were made to do it by law with monthly or maybe fortnightly updates to start with, after a year it would be close to be more balanced. It if they have to do it a set period after the lady DLC character was released etc. I mean this is if the to of my head and I don't have the answers but it should be enforced so for companies that can't be bothered and just make a game for such cash like this they are still responsible for making sure it is not broken months after release. Game balance is one of the most important ongoing things a dev can do.

Your review was pretty much right on the money. Jump Force isn't necessarily a bad game, but it's definitely not as good as it could be. Now after a much needed update, say, add more styles for CAC's, let us change the style of our CAC at will, and/or add a rematch option to Friendly Matches, and Jump Force could become a borderline good game.

You can customize the color of some attacks ( by adding an element like fire or darkness, especially looking good on the Kamehameha) otherwise I agree with all he said in his review. But I enjoy the game despite the numerous flaws, (especially the loading screens... ) Gaara and Dio looks fantastic
