Zay. You cant imagine how thankful i am. If you saw my long-read about not knowing how to train since you stopped directing with videos you upload and this is your reply - i wanna say thank you. You are not only a beast but a great human being. I fucking love you Zay. Would love to someday meet you over coffee or in the gym and just talk life, business, books. As soon as I figure out my fundraising stuff im signing up for THP❤️

Isiah I have a question . Is it ideal to focus more on strength rather than rate of force production before starting a training cycle ?
@Eliasmihai246 ай бұрын
In a good training cycle you have both components.

i actually did these workouts a few days a week, how important is variety or variation in leg workouts? It’ll be cool if you guys make a video on that!
@Eliasmihai246 ай бұрын
Variety is very inportant.When you doing the Same exercises all the time, your body will adapt (too good) on them and that will lead to decreases
@diogopocas79436 ай бұрын
Variety isn’t that important. What you are saying is true, that the body adapts, but that is the reason we up the weights and progressively overload to change the stimulus
@Eliasmihai246 ай бұрын
Bro you really dont know….Yes you should not change every week your exercises,but variety IS VERY INPORTANT.
@Eliasmihai246 ай бұрын
By Progrssively overloading the focus is more on set the weight load higher to still maintain more power,strengh gains etc. without plato

Btw, is it your Monday or Wednesday workout? I believe it Wednesday right? Judging by that thing you said about eccentric cleans you do on Mondays . Also in that bit you talked how you jump before cleaning (like that hang clean from your toes you showed in Shorts) or right before the catch?

Isaiah what are the benefits of a front squat vs a backsquat?
@Leonidas-eu9bb6 ай бұрын
you can't cheat a front squat. front squat is safer.
@samfolkestad17266 ай бұрын
Front squats target the quads more. More knee dominated exercise. Back squat target glutes more. More hip dominated exercise. But if you do high bar squat or safety bar squat, you get plenty of quad activation. Plus you can go heavier on back squat and safety bar squat. I wouldn’t recommend low bar back squat for basketball players. I have horrible shoulder mobility, so I can’t go heavy at all on front squats. High bar has worked fine for me (26 years of lifting). Plus you want to change it up between the two anyways. Helps to prevent overuse injuries. I know I shouldn’t answer for Isiah, but watching his video, it’s obvious he has trained both. So I’m not saying anything he wouldn’t. Isiah has the best videos on training for jumping higher. He talks the talk, and walks the walk. There are some guys that can jump really high that are absolute morons when it comes to training. And there are other guys who are very knowledgeable of training, that can barely dunk. And Isiah has years of videos showing how much he has worked on his jumping. Some guys are just god given freak athletes that didn’t have to learn or work for their hops. You never want to follow those guys. They don’t know the grind of becoming a better athlete. And they definitely don’t know how to teach average athletes to become better. Two other good KZbin channels for improving athletic ability for basketball are: - overtime athletes -PJF performance If you watch those two along with Isiah, you will have all the info you need to turn yourself into the best athlete you can become.

@diogopocas79436 ай бұрын
Hey buddy, I’ll tell you honest advice. Your priority should be to lose weight, so you can be faster. It’s easier to move when you are lighter. Learn about calories and macros. I’m sure if you lose 5 kg you will notice the difference in your jumps. Don’t take this the wrong way. I believe in you!

Let's "break the next word", too. EEEEEcentric is not a word anywhere in the English language. Eccentric means ‘away from the center’. A crazy person is called eccentric bc they are ‘away from the center of normality’. A ‘negative’ movement of an exercise is a movement of the tendons ‘away from the center of the muscle’. It makes perfect sense from an etymological standpoint. Mispronouncing it as eeeecentric would mean ‘without a center’, which makes no sense. Another line of logic proving that it must be pronounced eK-Sen-Trik is that the first syllable is ‘ec’, which can only be pronounced ‘ek’ in English. There’s no possibility of a silent ‘c’. There’s no controversy regarding how to pronounce ‘centric’. So, the word is pronounced, eK-Sen-Trik. But don’t take my word for it! Look it up in literally any English dictionary.
