Jump Ship - The NEW Large Scale SPACE GAME

Jump Ship is set to arrive later this year, and will allow players to pilot spaceships, fight on planetary surfaces, explore a variety of areas, all as a part of a co-op crew. The game also supports solo play.

I did Beta testing for this game when it was Hyperspace. I just got an email from them yesterday saying they are now listed on Steam, and they changed the name to Jump Ship. I am glad this game is doing something, and it has definitely improved since the Beta.

Oh look what we were hoping Elite Dangerous Odyssey was going to have 10% of. We want space legs, so we can walk around are ships. ED; We now have space legs, so you can walk around the space station and do everything you can do from your ship.

I have to say that compared to recent experience with most popular pvp shooters, I'm done with having a gaming session ruined by cheaters. I'm tired of being insta-killed, trying to fight invisible cheater, or coming up against people aiming through walls. I'm ready for a good pve or coop game, especially if it's a space game.

As an "older" gamer in my mid-forties I add that I never was a competitive player and grew rather quickly very frustrated with such gamers that "had fun" by just the amount of time they put into the game to "git gud". For example. the most fun I had with BF2042 was in the bot:bot matches, because then I was the one raking in the kills, and not being the victim... So I rather have a relaxed experience with my friends and fight against "mediocre" AI-bots :D

While absolutely not the same as Jump Ship, Helldivers 2 always needs more recruits if yall haven't tried it. It's the most fun I've had in a co-op game in a long time, specifically because the game is built around not taking it too seriously and with mistakes being incredibly forgiving. The community around it also reminds me of gaming from the more classic multiplayer games where people actually tried to help each other and everyone just wants to have fun, not constantly be at each other's throats. Jump Ship looks hella awesome as well, it's almost like a more engaging and refined Pulsar: Lost Colony.

Yup. Marauders comes to mind. Such a freaking good concept, flying dieselpunk ships in a galaxy where WWII had gone to space, was so freaking fun.... filled with hackers and they were directly responsible for killing the game. Devs would hide behind alt accounts on the steam forums and ban players posting evidence or in a tightly controlled discord. Sad seeing the game dead with no players now. If they had just released a PVE mode with clever bots, people would still be playing.

@@maxvitionunity Sure, until they switch off the servers and it becomes another piece of dead software in my library. Wouldn't be the first. Which is why I no longer buy games with "always online" solo play.

I discovered it when it was named Hyperspace and was waiting for news ! Reminds me of Void Crew or Pulsar, in a good way ! We need more coop fun space games without PvP :D

Looks like fun! Would love to see different enemy types besides bots. Different alien races would suggest a more fleshed-out universe and a higher possibility for deep lore. I'll keep an eye on this one.

yes! another game that maybe half completed later this year. Thanks for the Flight of Nova peddle, a game I invested in and the developer has gone dark on us. Hopefully not another space game let down

SoT is one of my favourite games, but I don't really like the PvP aspect, the fact that it's inspired by it, has a sci-fi setting and doesn't have PvP appeals to me greatly.

It looks like a lot of fun. I'm just curious to find out what the juice is. The gameplay loop. Are we grinding gear/upgrades? Is it kind of like an arpg in terms of advancement? That could be cool. Can't wait to find out. Thank you ObsidianAnt for staying sci fi & bringin' us the good newsss.

Im gonna nitpick. The ship looks SICK from the back. But from the front, man its like an entirely different ship. I know that sure a very big reason could be because of gameplay elements but come on, it could still have consistent design language and have the gameplay elements. Its just a matter of designing to make both work.

I'll withhold judgment for now. Looks kinda interesting, but only if it can be played properly in single player. I don't play multiplayer (neither coop nor pvp) games at all anymore. It requires multiple friends to be available which is getting harder to do with every year... or you can play with randoms, but I'd rather not play at all if that's the case.

I hope the ship flying isnt like Everspace. I hate those controls Im more used to the standard trail mechanics of games like star wars squadrons and Elite. Right now Im playing rebel galaxy OL and I really like its combat too.

neverending flood of "early access" demo previews. nothing is released anymore. results in quite the fatigue. I miss the times where actual games were the focus, not their development process

I like the graphics but the ship handling looks far to arcade like for me. The ships look like it turns far too quickly to be fun. They should add a bit more realism in to the mechanics imho. Though it’s quite possible the game wasn’t designed for my tastes. :)

If it's pvp then it's a pass for me. I just want a space exploration game where with something very simple I walk into my ship, sit and take off, fly to orbit then to other planet then i land and get off the ship All without loading screens. So far only star citizen and outer wilds are the games i know that meet the requirements but one is unfinished and the other one is a master piece that you get to enjoy only once

I am excited for this game, but @ObsidianAnt is this an ad? This is the same exact footage on IGN's video. Was the video and/or script provided or influenced by the company making/releasing Jump Ship?
