This looks like a nice all around Radio especially for long range. I just pre-odered one yesterday. I was looking for a second radio to compliment my DX9 for intermediate and long range flying for a couple of wings and copters I want to upgrade. Hopefully, jumper Tx will be supported in the future. I didn't like the long range options for Spektrum DX9 and I've been looking at your video series on OpenTx to learn more about it's capabilities ie setup, configuration, telemetry, lua scripts etc. And now this little gem has come along and it fits my needs without breaking the bank. Looking forward to your future inav and jumper Tx videos. I would like to see how well the T16 performs with both the R9M module and the Crossfire. That will be my next purchase. Keep up the great work. I always look forward to your videos when they come out. Cheers!

The first day i had my Jumper t16 the roller bearing pin snapped off the roller has two functions ie it rolls to scan and can be pressed down to "click on an item. faced with the prospect of a long wait i drilled out the end of the roller and fitted a new pin of hard plastic. All is now well and am pleased with the tx, but beware of being heavy handed "clicking" the roller

Have you ever heard of or saw a radio tx where the joy sticks had a third channel? First I am assuming that a typical 4ch flight controller has two separate channels per joy stick. One stick operates for example throttle and yaw, the other stick, pitch and roll. What if the sticks had a third function, what if one could rotate or twist or dial the stick/s all while remaining in full and proper control of the air craft.I figure if anyone, your the feller to ask.

I read the T16 manual and it shows a companion software used for many things, only it seems to be in Chinese although the screen captures are then commented in English. Is this an official Companion software by Jumper for the T16? As the OpenTX Companion doesn’t have the T16 listed and seems to corrupt the contents of the as card. Happy to see that country can easily be chosen in the settings menu of the T16 radio controller.👍

I have read on a few Forums and facebook pages, that people are getting Low/Critical RSSI Warnings when using the DSM Protocol, I my self have had the same problem with a Bind and Fly Spektrum Helicopter, getting Low RSSI warnings at about 5 foot high close to me, move away by about 15 feet , i get the critical warning. Looking at all the replies to the post that I have seen, it looks like the solution to this is just to turn off the RSSI warnings in the telemetry page. Do you know if this information is correct?? I have installed both the latest firmware from OpenTx and also the latest firmware for the Multi protocol module. I am not technically minded and from what I have read, it looks like these bind and fly stuff or any spektrum receiver which is not telemetry based, confuses the handset and gives a false warning. Apart from the walking 30 paces from the model and do the range test is there any other test to see if the module is working properly. it would be good if you can look into this as with your background in electronics you might be able to understand and technical information from either OpenTx or Jumper RC themselves.

As much as I like using my X9D it does feel like outdated technology, a colour screen with a decent resolution that can be read in daylight seems like the very least of an upgrade that the X9D could do with and if FRSky are going to rest on their laurels then credit to Jumper for bringing out a better spec'd transmitter at a very competitive price. Such a shame that they cannot take full advantage of the "open source" openTX, I hope they continue to develop their fork and who knows maybe even better what is being done in openTX. It does feel like FRSky have taken their eye off the ball and with the TBS Tango 2 on the horizon they may well find their grip of the market starting to slip!
@ChrisBalmforth5 жыл бұрын
FRSky have already brought out their updated X9D - the X10. Same interface as this one, and it IS supported by OpenTX and Companion. I love mine, the only downside is the high price. Maybe FRSky will have to reduce this now to stay competitive?
@flimunki1145 жыл бұрын
I don't really consider the X10 to be an updated X9D rather a new, higher end, model as it's almost twice the price of the X9D, not even Apple take the piss to that extent :)

It depends how you differentiate between an upgrade and a new model! The X10 is functionally identical to the X9D, just in a new case with a nice colour display and high quality controls. Totally agree about the price!

I understand that the hardware for the X9D design was inherited by FrSky so its interesting that so many still consider it their best radio. Vendors who don't listen to the market and give customers what they want leave places for new vendors to take market share. Competition is good as it forces complacent vendors to step up their game with their products, or less usefully, sell their inferior tech at a much lower price point.. OpenTX shouldnt be an FrSky only OS and should be investing time making it easier to use and lowering the knowledge needed to use the system.. it'll be interesting year..

Finally a Jumper TX that doesn't look/feel like a toy grade TX (sorry, but having had a Taranis X9D+ for 6 yrs. has spoiled me). I liked your video, but it definitely has an audio problem, where audio levels drop to nearly inaudible levels several times during the video .. at least, that's what I experienced here. That said, looks like this is one Jumper I could get behind .. but, already having a Taranis, I doubt that I'll 'take the plunge'. Cheers.

How odd, works fine for me here on PC and tablet, thanks for letting me know.

@@Painless360 Hi Lee. I just went and listened to the entire video again. This time there were no audio drop outs. Strange. Maybe I kicked the sub-woofer under my computer stand and the connection went bad ... only thing I can come up with. All seems fine the 2nd time I listened to it. Now I'll have to be on the watch for a loose audio cable connection on my PC. Cheers!

Thanks for the the review, Lee. The multi-protocol module says it supports Crossfire. Is that indeed true? So we don't need to buy that expensive TBS Crossfire module
@jimhimesjr5 жыл бұрын
No, you’d need to buy the crossfire module separately. The multi basically does frsky, fly sky, spektrum and futaba.

@@jimhimesjr ah ok. It knew it was too good to be true :-)

Looks nice in that Futaba case. No turn off for the screen (means high battery consumption), side sliders seems easy to move inadvertenlty and worst of all, no Companion. Maybe not that bad for drones but for planes I use Companion a lot. No rush to change the X9D.

ill wait a yr see how support goes ,, do like it need the extra channels ... frsky has a grip on the market see what happens , im sure there not happy. nice to see some decently priced products unlike hitec and futaba which i used for 40 yrs until recently . there great products just got tired of buying someone house . i have a few 1000 dollar tx that are useless and very limited. and there service well just buy another is there answer. maybe jumper will keep frsky from following the greedy little trail

jumper needs to work on their qc, reliability are horrid! frsky is so much better at this. cost affective is worth zero when i have 2 dead radio going on three, yet frsky i only have the one, and still working. make it more reliable and cheap and we got something. problems with reviews is they dont talked about the 6mths down the line. if they did it be a different review, might includes more swearing words. something a wise man once told me that comes to mind, " i am too poor to buy cheap stuff".. think about it.
@bilalrak44325 жыл бұрын
its very convincing what u said.. so much so that it makes you sound like u work for Frsky.. why u keep buying jumper when already two dead plus u got the one from Frsky that still works? and if u are getting replacements then why cry over money.. but then what do i know. i never owned a radio or flew anything
