@@popeprinny4705I’m even a fan of the second game’s story but 1.) the gameplay is very repetitive and limited to one character if you actually play well (Gunvolt is an easy-mode crutch, you only plays as Kirin otherwise) and 2.) the story takes a nosedive after anything established in the first two games to do whatever it wants (and what it wants is bad)

I'm so glad youtube recommended this channel. These are the passionate, uncensored deep dives into cult classic games that made me love the platform. I also appreciate you telling people to "just download the ROM". There are far too many gatekeeping boomers in retro gaming who insist on playing on real hardware with a $500 Sony trinitron CRT off ebay for "muh scanlines." I'm surprised you didn't show off garungorp's mouse injector hack. It makes the game feel perfectly like a modern fps game, down to removing the camera pointing down when you jump.

It's been awhile since i played Jumping Flash 2 but i believe you can unlock different support operators. AKA The rear view charms dangling at the top center. Which also changes the voice acting. And I'm pretty sure you can unlock the voice from the 1st game.
@drachenzahne9262
@drachenzahne9262 4 ай бұрын
You can indeed unlock more of the Support robots in JF2. When you get to the Extra Mode campaign "2 Faces of Baron Aloha", you get Ted. Beat that campaign and you get Tex, and get all the performance medals and you get Rachel. Sadly, you cannot unlock the first game's support character "Kumagoro" but JF2 starts you off with his successor, Bill.

Tbh the beginning of the video reminds me when I was showing my friends the Rayman sings sexbomb video which ended up devolving into us finding out about this german guy named Max Raabe and how that wasn't the only cover he ended up doing. My friend ended up scouring the entire internet for both the albums and made a little mock one for download (and even then he still couldn't find a full version of one of the songs). they are actually really good tbh Id recommend listening to the whole album the covers are actually really good, heck some I prefer over the original song tbh EDIT: btw if I had to recommend one song in total to listen to, his Another day in paradise is SO GOOD like actually its like 10x better then the original song

very cool segway of cultural info from jumping flash to the uga uga soundtrack. I too appreciate when shows respect the intelligence of children. most "children's media" today is a hellhole of generic characters designed in 1 second using the circle tool on some computer drawing program, while giving them some ultra dumbed down mind-rotting dialogue to absorb. it seems more like they are trying to make kids dumb, or just dont care about them at all. subbed!

I always love learning new obscure media from your videos, both related and unrelated to the video topic itself. I never owned a copy of Jumping Flash myself, but the after-school club I went to when I was little had a PS1 with a whole collection of games they got from some charity. My friends always found me weird to play the bizarre looking Japanese games like Parappa and Gitaroo Man, and ofc Jumping Flash. Somethin' about those old colorful 3D/2D platformers with the prerendered cutscenes and bizarre looking visuals were just so appealing to me, it's a delight to see people have the same feelings, especially expressing them through a video essay. I'ma go listen to Ugo Ugo Ruuga now, thank you Lute, hope IRL gets better soon for you

The first time I played this was during lunch breaks (technically dinner breaks, since I worked the late shift) on my PSP, because it was the first time I'd ever had half-hour breaks of any kind, and needed something to do, and it was great for that. Not sure why I've never played the second one, but I'll definitely be checking that out soon, and that music side channel even sooner. And you are absolutely right: kids aren't stupid! My lady used to work on one of those "Why, it's 1864, of course!" historical farms, and you couldn't slip ANYTHING past them; they're a lot sharper than most adults give them credit for.

That Japanese childrens melody was apart of my childhood too and I live in Denmark. It got multiple different lyrics added to it, the version I remember the most as an adult, is one you sing during Easter parties when you're about to drink a really nasty type of alcoholic called 'snaps' and it goes "haps haps haps, now we're having snaps" along to the melody. I'm wondering what country the melody originated from

truthfully i don't put a lot of thought into it. i just kinda type up my thoughts in notepad casually, as if i was talking to a friend about them or whatever. obviously i do research and stuff when applicable and try to just explain information about the games i talk about and try to make a case for the viewer to try them out themselves. the goal is to get more people to play more cool games. i don't give the scripting process any more planning or thought than that because i find it hard to write with a plan or outline in mind, i just sort of wing it every time. if i have an idea for a joke or something i see if it works if i cram it into a certain part, or if i think of something funny after i've written a part i'll like, go back and add that in and shit. lmao. i don't really plan it out much at all. there's probably better ways to go about scripting a video but this is just the way i've found it works best for me, sorry if this is a disappointing answer. i try not to agonize over details, if it's funny or interesting to me in the moment i just go with it edit: same goes with the video titles / thumbnails, i usually come up with them last minute hahaha
