On the lane change tracks is there anyway to eliminate the small dead spots ?

The longer the track the lower the current can be in places on the track. This evens it out, and is also done in a fashion in the railroad hobby. Adding a beefier supply isn't needed and would probably be bad on the cars circuitry. It's just a matter of continuity.

I’ve done it. I swapped out the 14volt power supply on my old analog setup using the 18volt evolution power supply, also using the red evolution controllers. It works. Never harmed anything. BUT the problem is the power becomes more unevenly distributed thru the track. Over powered at the power section and still underpowered at farther sections. I think this wire jump trick may still help even things out.

What about racing 4 to 6 cars. You would have to program your car to the same lane or can you switch?

You can change lanes as long as it's digital. The cars are programmed to the controllers, not the track.

If you want to jump multiple spots, for say 100 feet of track, do you have to add A) an additional power supply? B) do you continue to piggy back from one jump connection under the track to the next? C) or does the jump cable always have to originate from the original starting point as close to the main power source as possible then create a long cable / wire to the furthest point?

I follow which lanes she hook the yellow and red wires. She hook the inside lane with the yellow and red wire and then said to the hook the outside lane with the other end of the yellow and red wire. I stop the video and trace the outside lane at the start of the track. It becomes the inside lane on the other side of the race track. I thought for each rail is to have its own color wire and not to connect a different color wire on each rail.

Option C is best. I have a separate power supply, for each lane of my analogue track but, still need jumpers for lengthy track.

I always thought you were supposed to hook up into the unit of track that contained the power supply. She hooked up to the one right before it.

@@mikeinwtby It doesn't really matter. You can jump from any spot that has good power flow, to a spot that doesn't. It just so happens that the best flow is (usually) close to the power track.

Thank you for the response, all my life I’ve been under the impression that electricity only travels in One Direction, the direction that the cars travel. I thought the last piece of track before your start line was the track that had the least amount of voltage. Thank you so much for enlightening me. This is a game changer for me as far as the types of tracks that I will be able to design now without fear of voltage loss
