I am a Democrat of fifty years and I want to say that there is nothing inherently wrong with true Republican ideals. Just as you can't spend forever, there are times when spending must be done; that is why I became a Democrat. Why we are seeing so many Republicans join the Democrats voting for Harris is the fact that they took their oaths to protect and defend the Constitution seriously while others did not and I applaud them for it. We are brothers today fighting an authoritarian threat against our democracy that must be defeated and I am proud to lock arms with them. Yes, democracy is a policy issue, but the problem is much more profound: if you imagine that someone who refuses to accept that he lost the election and then tries to assassinate his own VP for upholding the US Constitution, will somehow miraculously care about the economy or immigration, Trump's entire record proves that that's false. A person without character lies about EVERYTHING, including about immigration and the economy. It's clearly Biden and Harris who are much more serious and competent when it comes to the economy or border security and immigration. So it's not a matter of disregarding the fact that he's despicable as a person and voting for him to obtain progress on the economy and border, or not voting for him and seeing those policy issues deteriorate. I’m truly and pleasantly surprised by how many Kamala/Walz yard signs are up in my neighborhood. I’m definitely in a rural red district and was convinced that I was the only Democrat around. There were many trump signs up for years and now there’s only two… one flag and one sign. As of today, there’s more Kamala signs than there ever were trump signs… including my own Kamala sign… with light and a camera on it that records 24/7. I have to admit that, remarkably, it doesn’t appear that any of the other Kamala signs have been messed with. I know these trump people and I’m sure it eats them up.
