991.1 owner here and the PDK failing keeps me up at night, man. I've messaged you in the past and want to say again how thankful I am for your work on this endeavor. This video gives me so much more confidence knowing there isn't a $20k bomb in my car just waiting to rear its ugly head. I hope I never need this sensor but knowing it exists is a huge peace of mind.

Well done Jeff - you are a legend! I hope my 981 Cayman PDK does not fail, but if it does - you will be my first port of call.

Just ordered the jumps sensor, excited to get this problem resolved myself instead of $20k 😊 thank you for everything you do!!

Always a comfort when you get the problem, the code and there is a reliable fix. Especially to a PDK transmission. Thanks for all your hard work on this project Jeff. 👍🏻🇨🇦

This is great news! I may reluctantly need to change to a Cayman with a PDK and this would bring a lot less worry.

Excellent work!! How different are the sensors in a 970 GTS PDK?
@jeffrichardsoncardiy15 күн бұрын
Does the same job but is a completely different shape.

@ any plans for a Panamera version?
@jeffrichardsoncardiy14 күн бұрын
No plans for the Panamera. I would need a bench transmission and a Panamera for the testing.

i really appriciate your effort and i have question. does this sensor provide same performace just like genuine porsche pdk sensor?? and there will be any problem in securing supplies in the future???
@jeffrichardsoncardiy8 күн бұрын
It gives a very similar response to the OEM sensor. I plan to be doing this for a while so hopefully these sensors will be available for a good time to come.

Other then the pdk not shifting into gear, are there other symptoms that can be resolved with changing the distance sensor? For example, if the transmission has a erratic or jerky/hesitating shift? Also, any plans for a panamera/macan support?
@jeffrichardsoncardiy16 күн бұрын
With a distance sensor failure it will normally go into limp mode with it stuck in the last gear, and then not go into gear at all. These symptoms can occur for many failures, but the error codes will point to it being a DS failure. No plans for support of other platforms. We're a bunch of sports car enthusiasts.

Not a PDK guy yet, but good to know, there are less costly options to fix the PDK issues that are surfacing with age.

So embarrassing to Porsche that a bunch of Aussie enthusiasts had to step in to fix this straight up German engineering fail

It's a choice the brand has made. They can repair a Carrera GT with all new suspension arms and tires on a 20 year ride $100K per car, but avoid this PDK and say IMS to list a few...
