Love your video. I will watch it again when I construct the pot holders I have cut out. Since I am making mine 4-ply, using two layers of heat proof batting, I cut the fabric a little oversized. Then I cut out the potholder and it has nice even edges. Lots easier than trying to line up four layers. Your video was EXACTLY what I needed to apply the binding and loop. I tried making rounded corners. Didn't work for me. Your method is perfect!! Thank you so much. PS, I just discovered myself how very useful tweezers are when sewing. Now I can't sew without them.

Very helpful tutorial. I have some scrap fabric I plan to turn unto pot holders and this is the first (and maybe only) video I will need to demonstrate a loop in the binding. Great tip to use tweezers! I saw a quilt binding tutorial that showed to fold the corners with the edge you are sewing on top - tuck the horizontal edge under - then you have a smooth edge instead of trying to get over the edge of the fold. Hope that makes sense.
@Junctionfabric6 жыл бұрын
I know there are several different binding methods. None of the methods are wrong and some are easier that others. Try them and decide what works the best for you or what suits that project. I have used a variety and have my favorites for different projects. The double folded strip is my favorite, sewn back to front. It is a time factor. Thank you for watching.

I just finished my first potholder using your tutorial. I need to tweak a couple of things but the hanging loop is great! Next one I'll remember (hopefully) to use 2 layers of batting/insul-bright.

Hi, I really enjoyed this video. Very nice attention to detail. I liked the video being brought in close to see stitching being completed up close. Not kidding about how much I liked this video. I watch and subscribe to allot of quilting activities. Most are fun but not always caring about how straight their seams are or if they are a little off on their points. You do nice work. Thank you.

When you went to the iron, I was shocked when you put it down and it raised up a little. It threw me. Wish I had had that 50 years ago. The number of things I have ruined because my irons didn't raise up, including a rug when I didn't have an ironing board way back then.
