I have found that midrangey piles with Urza's saga are really well set up to beat energy piles. Constructs are just a good plan versus them, as most of their creatures are quite small.

Energy was still >25% (Boros and Mardu) before they started playing ring. If the ring gets banned then control decks become a lot worse. What makes you think energy won't be stronger after ring ban? The deck is too grindy even without ring

Ring makes them able to beat creature hate and sweepers, that s why control decks are dead rn
