This was more like Millennial Jund than Boomer Jund. The Pyromancer deck was the actual Boomer deck, it looked like a deck from 2018.
@CardmarketMagic2 жыл бұрын
I had to pick the deck before seeing what I was playing against. Making the Jund deck too bad with the older, true-to form, cards would have made for poor content if the winning deck was something like Tron. It's still the midrange version of the Jund colours, which, for entertainment purposes, is Boomer Jund :)

Hey all, just learned this neat interaction the other week and I figured I would share. 21:59 In game two, when Carl used boseiju on the hearse, Jamin tutored a basic mountain. With boseiju you can actually search for any land card with a basic land type. These being plains, island, swamp, mountain, forest. So triomes and shocks can be found among other lands. A nice little leg up over a basic.

You asked for opinions on the 31:50 Inquisition. I would have taken the 'goyf. That would rob Carl of his good turn two play. Whereas Charm and Pyromancer are both 3 mana card advantage spells, so kind of two of the same. Considering Jamin needs time to set up his Revelers in hand I see it as another arguement to take the pressure in the form of 'goyf. Though for reasons beyond my comprehension Carl paid off the greedy play to take a card advantage spell by turn two casting Kroxa anyway.

Finally some 2021 love for MarduPyromancer! With DRC's release, ive been playing the deck at the moment at my local LGS and its honestly pretty sweet. Solid, fun, Terrible T4 deck. The only upside is it has a good match up into murktide.
@couchpotatoe912 жыл бұрын
I feel like it used to be pretty good when faithless looting was still legal, right? Just that continued source of draw-discard. Those Boros charms and surgicals looked pretty bad in this version as well, not only against Jund. Is Cathartic Reunion really the only way to fill the graveyard for reveler and souls?
@TheWongKeys2 жыл бұрын
@@couchpotatoe91 i find with DRC, you have enough self mill where the flashback for the souls is just an added bonus in a deck with 7 cantrips. Drc is the only interaction I run, but by casting souls+smiting helix twice i get two pz and drc triggers which lets me two for one often and get extra value. If your asking for discard outlets although, seasoned pyromancer, magmatic channeller and collective brutality although ive cut all 3 (but brutalities in the board) as they really don't provide enough value.

I started watching you recently and binge watched so many episodes, the editing is top tier! One suggestion I have for possible growth of the channel is to do this kind of giveaway but have cta for watchers to comment/subscribe/share etc and giveaway deck to one of them too, I think this would help your engagement a lot. Tbh not sure how it could work with deck tech, maybe giving away 2 decks but that seems too expensive for the video. Maybe just a card market gift card of 30-50 for viewers would work too. Not exactly sure but this is seriously one of the best mtg channels out there and I hope you grow more!

In game 1 the storms wrath wouldn't have killed the goyf. After storms wrath revolves, state-based effects would have saved the goyf, because Wrenn would be in the graveyard, making goyf a 4/5.
@lomenado Жыл бұрын
There was already a Nahiri in Jamin's graveyard, so another planeswalker hitting the graveyard would have changed nothing for the Tarmogoyf. Also, if a Tarmogoyf had 4 toughness at the time some global damage spell hits it and some other stuff for 4 like Storm's Wrath does, then everything that dies dies at the same time, so there's no timing window for the 'goyf to grow in toughness and survive. If the Wrenn and Six dying would have grown the 'goyf as suggested, for example, that would not have saved this 'goyf, as the state-based action that destroys the Tarmogoyf for having lethal damage (704.5g) and the state-based action that destroys Wrenn for having 0 loyalty (704.5i) occurs at the same time as per rule 704.3: "Whenever a player would get priority (see rule 117, “Timing and Priority”), the game checks for any of the listed conditions for state-based actions, then performs all applicable state-based actions simultaneously as a single event."
