I’m not a police expert but that sure seemed like a bad call for whoever was in charge to not authorize that pit. He had a such a good chance with no traffic around but they didn’t give him permission and let the RV drive onto the highway into the oncoming lanes, endangering way more lives.
@banditeastlick24712 жыл бұрын
There is a lot of things that go into play when they are in this scenario. Old cars are police officers that want a new car will be lead car. If nobody wants to damage the car, you still have the opportunity to have more officers on the gravy train. It's healthy and builds Brotherhood characteristics when they all get to play together and work as a team. It also eats up the clock. Have you ever seen a RV come completely apart when it leaves the road? It's a big mess. Perhaps they don't have a friend that has a tow truck company that will clean up the mess, if not the city will have to clean it up themselves. They like to award themselves so that they can get the pay grades and the stripes desired. They participate in random acts of kindness like this for their Valor. It's exactly like the military but the whole thing that they're supposed to be doing is different

Ilah was ordered to give up her custodial rights when the child was born and the infant was supposed to go into protective custody after an order was issued by the state. Michigan State Police said the family was aware of this but they took off with the infant anyway. Police arrested Linda and Ilah who did not have the baby with them, but police were able to eventually locate the infant and return her to the Isabella Indian Reservation. Ilah was charged with parental kidnapping while Linda was charged with giving police a false name, resisting and obstruction of justice and possession of heroin.

@@user-cg9zq4bt5q well, I've never tried to pit a camper so I really don't know how easy it is. But I do know they weigh a lot more than a police car, (prob a Dodge charger). At higher speeds that would be a bit trickier to pull off. That's why he waited till he had him at slow speeds and could get squarely into the back end to push it out of control
@user-cg9zq4bt5q2 жыл бұрын
@@davezabriskie6365 dude it's a van with a shell on it . Large high center of mass(easier to push out of the way at high speeds/stability, not to mention only 3 wheels) not moving, it would be a challenge. But way easier then say ....a semi/towtruck/bus/etc. at speed When cop was on the side with outer momentum on the turns, that would have been Ideal. Light tap send that thing launching off the side
@jmac65222 жыл бұрын
Any one else noticed how he used the push bumper of his patrol car to hook the campers rear bumper? He took over the control of both vehicles and she wasn’t going to get very far after that. The officer did a very fine pit and also kept control over both of the vehicles.

I honestly think law enforcement needs the ability to use their own judgement and PIT a vehicle without waiting for permission. There are so many of these videos out there that go on for way too long either because they're waiting to get permission to PIT or, honestly, they don't know how to effectively and efficiently do it.

To all the people that want to know why the Officer asked for permission, a PIT is a very dangerous maneuver that can get innocent people involved. The Standard for a PIT is 35mph or below. A high speed pit will increase the potential for collateral injury's or death. Because it can be so dangerous, permission to perform a PIT is required.

This is literally criminal for not allowing them to pit. They head miles and miles and miles where they were not around any other vehicles. Yet they weren't allowed to put and this chase kept on going on and on and on. This is the type of idiocy that the police have to deal with these days, it's inexcusable they ended up having to let this person potentially kill someone because they couldn't pit.
