Wright barreled up his home run. Great at bat. I love that Gary had just said two strikes was nothing for Wright. This era of Mets baseball will always hold a special place in my heart.

@@JulianWyllie There was something about the 2006 team. I think we’ll look back on 2024 much the same way. No rings to show, but what a fun ride with a cast of characters… each of these seasons.

At 52:09 when Wright fouls the ball and the crowd goes ooohhhh, that was because the ball bounced out of my hands. I was trying to locate my seat and saw a ball coming in the corner of my eye. I put up my hands defensively out of instinct. Two pitches later you hear the crowd again and that was because I caught that foul ball. I was a minor celebrity for a minute. Got a standing O in my section and a few people recognized me on the streets and at the bar after the game from being on the jumbotron. Also saw the Jays GM Ricciardi at a lounge the next night and we talked to him and I asked if he recognized me and he said yeah, you're that guy that was on the jumbotron.

Im surprised to see/hear Ralph Kiner, since he only did home games once he retired, especially since its in another country (Canada).

Delgado belongs in the HOF. Period
@hmhm8568 ай бұрын
Voters are usually more "strict" when it comes to voting for firstbasemens into the HOF. If Delgado was a thirdbasemen or a corner outfielder, he would be in the Hall. The argument against Delgado was that he had less than 500 career home runs despite being a firstbasemen, and that he only played in one postseason despite playing in the wild card-three division era

Was this the first interleague series between the Mets and Jays?
@metsclassics Жыл бұрын
Had to look that one up, but looks like they played at Shea in 1997 and then in Toronto in 1998.

@@metsclassics earlier than I thought. The first regular season interleague series between the Rangers and Cardinals for example was 2004. They would later meet in the World Series in 2011.

Shame that Lastings Milledge never developed into that hitter the Mets thought he would he. That really hurt the Mets future.
