Best interview I ever saw of Tom Terrific. Tom is fun, engaging and really gave us the best insight into his life and times. However, this interview also made me angrier at M. Donald Grant. Going behind Gil Hodges back and trading Nolan Ryan and always disrespecting George Thomas Seaver? May Grant rot in F’ing Hell along with Dick (appropriately named) Young. Thank you, Tom for all you did in your career. I was fortunate enough to see you pitch live in person many times. May God bless you and your family always.

I truly love this interview as well. There doesn’t seem to be this style on TV anymore; no noise, limited video clips, very calm atmosphere. Also, Gary Apple does a good job of steering the discussion and asking thoughtful questions while just letting Tom Terrific answer on his own time.

Thanks a lot Sir. I usually check up on this channel every week or so to see if there is a new upload. Could not appreciate your efforts in archiving these mid 2000's Mets games more. Please upload more regularly, a very kind and humble request as for me personally I can NOT watch current MLB with all the offence inflating rules and the darn pitch ⏰ which goes against the very core essence of the sport itself. Best regards.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I don’t like the pitch clock either but to be honest it’s not as intrusive as I originally thought. Some of the other rules, though… 😬 I’ve been very busy and not posting as much as I used to but I will try to get more games uploaded. Thanks for following me.

I had forgotten that Chase Utley played with Kenny Lofton. It’s overlapping careers like this that make me just laugh when dumb people say stuff like “today’s players are so much better than guys who played 25-30 years ago.” Utley played until 2018. Lofton, who batted .335 that year, started his career in 1991. The game and players don’t change that much.

This game was perhaps the only stress-free / drama-free game that the Mets had in their final 17 games. Just an easy win from start to finish, with no stress or drama
@hmhm85629 күн бұрын
2:48:00 Here is a moment that is completely forgotten in this World Series, is that the Mets, in the bottom of the 9th inning in game 6 of a tied game, now have runners on first and second with no outs, so you would expect the next Mets hitter (Howard Johnson) to bunt and move the runners over. HOWEVER, Davey Johnson (Mets manager) does NOT call for the bunt. He just let Johnson do whatever he wanted. Howard Johnson was still not considered a power hitter in 1986. 1987 was the first season that he showed he had power. Had the Mets lost this game 6, Davey Johnson would have gotten DESTROYED by the press. It would have put him right up there with Mets management decision to start Seaver in game 6 of the 1973 World Series on 3-days-rest with the Mets up 3-2 in the World Series over Oakland, instead of starting Seaver for the possible game 7 on full-rest had the Mets lost game 6
