yes yes yes! you do things differently than other finance yt but I feel like I can most relate to your spending. your videos have helped me stick to my budget, and also keep buffers which helps make it stress free if I ever fall out of the budget. thank you for posting :)

Hey nice video Carter! Do you also contribute to RRSP through your corporate job as well? I feel overwhelmed when focusing on more than one savings goals! I am something like your fiancé - I just pull from my one savings account when I need it for a big purchase. Sometimes I just can’t split for example $1,500 into smaller buckets I just lump it in one account and which ever goal is priority all my savings would go for that specific goal.

So we're with HOOPP so yes it is technically contributing to my RRSP through my corporate job! I am prioritizing my RRSP more than I was before as I have big tax bills being self-employed as well, so it helps lower that! But my TFSA is my main priority!

Ok sorry if this is a stupid question but are your investments in the American stock market or is there a separate Canadian market?

I invest through a Canadian investing platform but you can invest in stocks worldwide! My TFSA for example (which is comparable to a Roth IRA in the US) is made of 64% equity and within that I invest in 20% US equities, 15% international equities, 8% Canadian equities etc...

I don't have any videos on it, but I truly think it's very simple and sometimes is a society we over complicate goals! Quite literally take them out you guys want to save divided by two figure out how long do you have to say for it and that is your monthly savings goal! There's also different ways to do it- one person can put the down payment the other person can take care of the closing costs etc. But we got our preapproval obviously which gave us the numbers that we were comfortable spending on the home, then we decided how much do you want me to put down and then started saving! Our situation was a little bit unique in the sense that we bought a lot sooner than we expected and didn't have as long to save as we would've liked, but it is what it is!

It totally can! If you've watched my channel for awhile you would know I lived paycheck to paycheck for YEARS and slowly worked my way up in my job and also in social media. There are so many amazing jobs out there that will see your value and pay you well! For me it was all about re-assessing my bills- I sold my new car for an older one to have a lower payment, split my mortgage with my partner, stopped eating out so much and found ways to save on bills!

Hi there it's not my spreadsheet, just one that I bought and use! The budget spreadsheet does come with instructions on how to use a spreadsheet properly!! But since I did not create a spreadsheet, I won't be able to troubleshoot it!

@@laurenfoster6668 the instructions lay it all out for you! You put your planning numbers in the yearly planning and then you put your actual numbers in the transaction log!
