Hey Ingrid hope you’re doing well! I know it’s really conflicting when you want to do what you’re passionate about yet the numbers just don’t add up. Sometimes your viewers want you to be someone you’re not. Don’t let anyone change you! Don’t let anyone judge you for who you’ve become. You’re a strong, beautiful, talented woman. Stay true to who you are and make videos on what you’re passionate about.

Hey Ingrid! I've noticed that your views are down on your videos (and I apologize for occasionally being a part of that problem). I think the videos where you talk about personal issues or politics, similar to your LWL podcast, are my favorite! I would love to see more of those types of videos because I think that's true to your own personal evolution that I have seen over the past 8 or so years I've been watching. I hope that you show videos when you move to NY as well (which is a selfish request because I'm from there, but moved away recently 😩) because I think seeing your authentic self and your thoughts on life is the reason I subscribed in the first place! Anyway, from one queer woman to another, keep on being your best self 💚

Thank you so much for this feedback. I have some things planned in the personal /political/mental health/self care realm and you'll be seeing more videos focusing on those subjects once I get through the bulk of some big changes that are happening. (I have a life update going up on Saturday talking about everything!) I love beauty still, so I've tried to find a balance between that and other topics I care about but I completely hear you on wanting more things like you'd hear on the podcast. I want that too and it makes me excited to think of new ideas around meaningful issues. Last thing: you don't have to apologize for my views being down. Yes, it's really hard sometimes and I cry, feel anxious and overwhelmed. It can be difficult not to take it too personally, but I've been doing this for almost 10 years. This is really the first time I've ever seen a noticeable dip and overall, I see that kind of sustainability and trust from you guys over the years as a huge success. Work and life has its ups and downs and this was bound to happen at some point. The exciting part is looking at all of this through the lens of curiosity and potential. At the end of the day, my gratitude for this community is boundless. We've made something truly magical together, so thank you. I'm looking forward to what's next. ❤️

Ingrid Nilsen I’ve been watching your video since I was 18 and now I’m 28! I admire your growth and how brave you are. Keep growing Ingrid. Stay true to yourself and those who truly love you will stay with you (like me)!

I’ve also been watching since I was 18!!! I’m sure you think about this all the time. I’m personally on YT less now that I’m 28 because I’m going through my own life changes. I’m married, extremely busy with work, and going through my own transitions. I agree that I come mostly for the more personal videos. I do watch your beauty videos too, just not as much since I’m budgeting for different things in my life. Regardless, I still love your channel and want to support you even more. Keep up your great work, Ingrid. Please don’t take it personally (I know that’s hard. My therapist tells me this every session 😅). Just know that some of us are evolving and growing right along with you. Thank you for educating me more deeply about the LGBTQ+ community, experience, and so much more. Can’t wait for your life update!

I noticed that her views have gone down and sometimes I think it's because I haven't been watching her lately. I hope she makes more videos to show her authentic self, more vlog, or maybe call Shane Dawson ;) Love you Ingrid.. good luck moving to NYC. I also did a big move, but from NYC to SF.

Ingrid Nilsen I just watched your Instagram stories and realized “wait that’s my comment!” You’ve always been one of my favorite KZbinrs and when you came out it made me feel a deeper connection to you and your videos. I think that as a viewer I can tell that you are going through huge changes and you’ve mentioned some of those on various platforms. Like I said, I like the videos where you get more personal and introspective, even the recent book favorites was a video I super enjoyed as a librarian and because you talked about the ways these books affected you and you related to them. Obviously I also love beauty related things and look forward to that content as well, but I am also looking forward to your next chapter in life. I hope it rejuvenates you even through all the anxiety over the changes. Thanks for replying to my comment and opening up! You got this 💚

I’ve always struggled with my skin but over the years you and estee lalonde have played a huge part in adopting a skincare routine that has improved my skin drastically (: although the products I use are not always as high end as yours, the overall change in my skin from cleansing my skin daily and trying different products that’ll suit my needs. Always love the homie and comfortable style of your videos🙌🏻✨

Hi Ingrid! I saw your IG story and read your response to the comment below. I love your idea of looking through your situation through a “lense of curiosity and potential.” In my 35 years on earth I’ve learned a thing or 2 about life as well. The waves are inevitable. We have to learn how to ride them. And when we are at our lows, it’s how we rise back up again that builds our character and strengthens our soul. And that takes courage but also creativity. Being creative in the way we turn our trials into triumphs. You will be ok, as you have in the past. You will figure it out. You’ve made it this far! I encourage you to think of yourself as an artist. Artists have the uncanny ability to take any life experience and turn it into an opportunity to create. Creativity is a superpower. Artists are superheroes. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next! Much love ❤️Marisa

I'm not usually one to comment on videos, but growing up watching you (and watching you grow up too) has been really wonderful. You really have made an positive impact on many lives. I love seeing the things you are passionate about, and I hope that whatever your next steps are help you to show how passionate you are. You're doing great!! On a lighter note, add "Chronicle of a Last Summer" by Yasmine Al Rashidi to your reading list!

Omg Ingrid, The Bold Type is amazing and is one of my favourite shows too! I remember seeing an ad for it when it was playing on a TV at my gym and all I saw was the title and that one of the taglines was "Break the Patriarchy" and for sure, I thought that it was going to be one of those typical girl power shows with only white women like ALWAYS seems to happen these days lol and when I looked it up on Wikipedia, I as pleased to see that there are not one but two WoC in main starring roles. After watching it, I loved seeing important issues being brought up and having great rep for WoC and PoC as well as LGBT issues.
@magickgirl7866 жыл бұрын
For TV show recommendations, I would suggest the following: 1) Shadowhunters, 2) Jane The Virgin, 3) Brooklyn Nine Nine, 4) One Day at a Time and 5) Agents of SHIELD. I am pretty sure they are all on Netflix and they are all great because they have good rep either with PoC/Woc or LGBT characters or both. I really hope you read this comment and that you'll watch one or more of these shows because I am sure you'll love them!

I can 1000% attest to the got2b dry shampoo being THEE best ever!! I'd also recommend DryBar Detox Dry Shampoo. I'd say it's on the same level as -got2b-, but it doesn't come out as white/powdery as got2b...the downside = the price point is higher. You can find it at ulta/sephora, it's worth a try! They both work wonderfully tho, got2b is about 7 bucks vs. DryBar's 23 bucks... for that price, I'll gladly take some extra powder I can brush outta my hair, lol! PS: I use got2b's Rockin' It Dry Shampoo and it smells amazing, not overpowering or anything!
