Well said! As someone who studies Jungian-influenced personality systems like the MBTI, I can definitely say with confidence that this video is pretty much on the spot! Especially when you mentioned how Jung didn't want people to be labelled as personality is too complex. It was more for a generalized idea and pretty much an oversimplification Well done :) also subbed

MBTI was developed by two laywomen with no training in psychology whatsoever. It isolates and pigeonholes the complexity of the brain by reducing it to four letters and a label. Then confirmation bias takes hold and you enter spiral of endless speculation. There’s isn’t a single professional who takes MBTI seriously. It is pseudoscience at best and no more accurate than astrology.

MBTI typing should not be allowed as part of a hiring process. Especially under capitalist exploitation. It's unethical.
@psycho-analyticgamer74522 жыл бұрын
agreed. It should be more of a voluentary test for people who are curious to "where they might fit in" based on their preferences of those mentioned functions. Example: If someone prefers "Introverted Sensing" they'd most likely be good with familiar environments, details and be a lot more comfteble with repetition" (I over simplified it) vs someone who prefers "Extroverted Intuition" where they'd prefer an evershifting environment that can test their pattern locating preferences with out of the box situational thinking "think of all the possibilities would be the steotype I'd use here" As SI and NE are opposites it would be a horrible experience if their roles would be reversed The system has merit but is used it the wrong way :/ Especially as soon as you tie money to it then it's no longer about trying to understand self
@jeremyhennessee66042 жыл бұрын
Very strongly agreed Knight of Wands. It's unethical and down right ridiculous. A parlor trick devised by idiots with no actual background in psychology, or doctorates. It is a gross oversimplification of an individuals personal characteristics which are shaped by such unique factors that no standardized "test" could ever properly measure an Individual Personality.
@psychedelicgem Жыл бұрын
It seems pretty simple to me. We should all just develop means that respect the strengths/weaknesses/differences that may exist in every individual when going about our day in the fray. Message to the psychos watching and reading to manipulate us others: be one of the good ones hey mate... the good ones live on as legends. The bad eggs get forgotten, especially by women. Jesus won that game you so desperately play and he was a good egg.

Computer systems have reached a high level of detailing that gets used in having records and somehow controlling more and more people. Universal Values have always given an Identity to every single beings that, recently DNA science has brought to light, but the influences go far beyond with Science not being able to fully comprehend. There is a competition between the two taking place that is illusive: the dysfonctions we are witnessing in the world would demonstrate that to any objective visionary. The ego of rulers does not want to admit that time is overdue to go along with forces one cannot dominate. A lot of research is available in topics relating to the next step Humankind has to face.

Hi, I was reading Jung's theory today and came across the dynamics (principles) of the psyche. Could you please explain these principles, principle of opposites, principle of equivalence and principle of entropy. I'm confused about the principle of equivalence in particular. And thankyou so much for making these videos! Hope you are keeping safe too.
@MisterSimplify4 жыл бұрын
Hi Himani. Thank you for your appreciation. The principles are complicated concepts that will need to be covered in a separate tutorial which dives deeper into Jungian psychology. I'll try and explain the principle of equivalence to you in brief. Now, for every thought one gets an opposing thought. Now let's presume that you're following a diet which allows you to consume carbs only on alternate days. But you manage to find a piece of leftover cake (full of carbs!) which is about to go out of date unless you consume it that day (and it's a non-carb day). So on one side your mind wants you to consume that piece and not waste food, and one the other side you don't wanna ruin your non-carb day. These are opposing / conflicting thoughts - the stronger thought being the one for the carb diet. If you accept the opposing thought and consume the cake, energy will be diverted towards making your psyche grow towards that thought. And if you reject the opposing thought, the energy goes into developing an archetype. This is what the principle of equivalence states. As you must be aware, there are various Jungian archetypes. Hope that clears it a little bit. I will add Jungian Psychology to my pipeline of potential videos. Not sure when I'll get around to working on it though. All the best!

I wish you explained what truly Intuition, sensation, thinking and feeling meant because those are highly interpretatable terms. A thinker isn't more intelligent than a feeler and an intuitive doesn't have a 6th sense more developed by a sensorial who isn't sensual. Those terms need explanation. Great video otherwise!
