I like that acoustic bass sound. Paradoxically, It's often the Jungle/DnB that has a bit of funky restraint, that goes harder than the fully bass maxxed jump up stuff for me.

I think I know what you're saying. I've found with the percussion aspect being so busy you don't need big stonker waveforms to fill shit out. A nice little acoustic bass chop and sprinkle of twinkle from time to time is more than enough.
