Jungle Cruise was also similar to Raya and the Last Dragon (spoilers for both movies btw) -Main character needs to find something (or in Raya, multiple things) to help hundreds of people -Most of the movie takes place on a boat -Main character teams up with the person who’s in charge of the boat to help get these things -People turn to stone -At the end of the movie, one of the main characters turns to stone but then turns back into a person because they got the thing that they were looking for

Its also basically the same plot as the second anaconda movie. -in anaconda theres a flower that could possibly heal any disease and even bring immortality (instead of a plant, jungle cruise changes to a tree -the exploration team goes to amazonas -the captain of the boat has a pet, In anaconda it's a monkey and In jungle cruise it's a giant killer cat -the two paths that they must choose in the river (it's even the same split path river) -the waterfall, but, while in anaconda they didn't managed to get away from it and ended up starting a chain of events that eventually killed most of the crew by a giant snake and the scientist, jungle cruise managed to don't do that. -the indigine tribe, in anaconda they are all dead when the rest of the crew arrive and thanks to that the crew made a wooden boat, was betrayed by the scientist guy that run away with the boat to get the flower, while jungle cruise the tribe is alive and help them. -both of the plants can only blooms when the requirements are completed, while the flower in anaconda only blooms each few decades, the tree in jungle cruise only blooms by Making that damn puzzle. -both films end with the surviving crew (the whole crew in case of jungle cruise) having to go home in a shitty boat, while jungle cruise is just a destroyed boat, in anaconda it's just a wooden plataform

Also, those "indigenous people", by which you mean Stone Age Indians, have a pretty vast area to live on, and very few prefer to live in the wild. Like the last aborigines in Australia living on a Stone Age level, who eagerly gave that up for things like plumbing and steady access to food and water. Members of the same tribe had found them and said they'd come live with the rest of the tribe as soon as they'd tasted sugar. Not exactly Hollywood's "indigenous people live in harmony with nature and would never give that up!" statements.

It was INFURIATING when Lily decided to use the flower on Frank. She was sacrificing thousands of lives and her own life's goal for the sake of a man who wanted to die. To make matters worse she had no way of knowing that she would get a second petal or that the first petal would even save Frank. It could have very easily just been a waste

To be fair, I think most people in her situation would take the immediate chance of saving a loved one vs. an also uncertain chance (will the petal even survive research? If it's magic, will "research" even produce any kind of results?) of potentially saving an unknown number of hypothetical strangers. Also, MacGregor had JUST told her Frank's last words were that she was world enough for him, so she knew he didn't actually want to die anymore.

And keeping someone trapped under water alive by having people swim down and breathe into their mouth is an actual technique. It was part of lifeguard training I had. Never had to really do it; I expect that in real life the trapped person would be too panicked for it to work.

To be fair about the “part of the curse is he exhaled oxygen?” We inhale about 21% oxygen, and we exhale 16% oxygen, so it could work? Kind of? It’s just the equivalent of breathing at about 7,000 meters above sea level. So, you know, not very enjoyable unless you’re an experienced mountaineer

In Leverage one scene talks about a character that's been chained to a chair and dumped into a pool sucking oxygen from the wood he's chained to. I would just call it movie magic but most of the series is based on fact so.... that might be possible. Sucking oxygen pockets from wood underwater. It sounds crazy but... the whole show does and I know for a fact the majority of it is based in reality. .

@@zoltanszaszi2264 Err...no. CPR has more to do with the chest compression to keep the blood flowing. Mouth-to-mouth breathing is optional for bystanders. Of course, it's better to have it but because people from the western world would rather see people die than get accused of sexual harassment (even though they're protected by Good Samaritan Law), most don't.

I bet someday a psychologist will write an awesome thesis on what we do to cope lol. And that's not to give any value to our suffering over different locations or different generations. I just mention it because I can see how that could sound trite to a Brazillian. Like he's making fun of the tragedy of the country instead of taking it serious. I really really thought (and wanted) Lili to save the Conquistadors. After all, all he wanted to do was to save his daughter. There was literally no other goal for them but to release the curse so they could move on.

They did become murderers and slaughtered many of the villagers when they tried to take the Arrowhead. Just because he was trying to save his daughter doesn't give him justification to slaughter innocent people. Being left to suffer for all eternity is a fitting punishment for all murderers.

@@leoncoben6983 yeah, he was a villain for sure slaughtering the tribe. But after 400 years, his only motivation for anything is to break the curse and cease existing. Seems like a win win. You are putting petty revenge over the greater good. Who to say, they won't be resurrected 100 (or less) years later, by the river changing course, etc. and then becoming a problem again for the local population. It's just kicking the can down the road, for someone else to deal with.
