Brilliant! Having them play themselves. The ultimate method acting, they've practiced years for this, you could say they were born for these roles!
@ashram123 жыл бұрын
To be fair, nowadays playing as yourself probably makes you more marketable. "Blending" into a role might make you less memorable to modern audiences, and therefore less in demand by studios.

And complete with advertising the actors' own products? It's the pinnacle of creative bankruptcy! This movie can only be seen as a parody of films in general.
@LuigiGamesful3 жыл бұрын
@@ashram12 Nope, not at all. There's still plenty of examples of memorable characters in cinema. Superheroes, any character from Tarantino's movies, Hugh Jackman is famously known as Wolverine and PT Barnum; two completely different characters; hell even Adam Sandler is now remembered by most people as the depressing jewelry dealer. Ryan, Dwayne, Kevin Hart, etc. just don't have that acting range.
@ashram123 жыл бұрын
@@LuigiGamesful I never said that character actors don't exist anymore, I said that an actor who can play as "themselves" probably has an easier time marketing themselves. As for Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson's acting range, I'm not going to comment on that. Adam Sandler was an actor who was thought to have no range, and surprised everyone with "Punch Drunk Love". It's the double-edged sword of having found your niche: casting directors may feel your personality is precisely what the movie needs, but then they can't see you in any roles that deviate from that.

You could extend this pitch meeting by 5 minutes just by elaborating on all the things that don't make any sense in their plan after you know the twist, for example, even if Gal Gadot were to know about the prison wall and had influence inside the prison, that information clearly didn't reach the guards as they clearly intended to shoot to kill, for example with the bazooka, it was no way probable that Dwayne Johnsson survived. The easiest solution was just to capture and torture the information from Ryan Reynolds since it was Dwayne who knew his location in the first place, or just to follow him instead of arresting him, but I guess then we wouldn't have a movie lol...

"Jungles of Argentina" is such an odd choice. Pretty much every other location in the movie is pretty stereotypical - bullfighting ring for Spain, pyramids for Egypt, but then jungles are so atypical of Argentina. Misiones Province, does have patches of subtropical rainforest, but it's not exactly the Amazon or the Congo, it's pretty fragmented. The coordinates shown on screen in the movie do take you to a patch of rainforest in Misiones province, but that patch measures about 150 sq km - not exactly a vast, trackless wilderness in which to hide. Giving the film a little bit of leeway, there is the larger Iguazu National Park nearby, about 4 times the size, but it is also home to one of the biggest tourist attractions in South America, Iguazu Falls, which has already a popular destination by the time of WWII. Many Nazis of course did go to Argentina after the war, but most went to Patagonia, which is much more remote and sparsely populated. And it sure ain't jungle - most of Patagonia is dry, treeless, windswept and cold. There are forests around the lower slopes of the Andes, but they aren't jungle, and they're punctuated by alpine lakes and glaciers.

In a car that old the gas gelling wouldn't be an issue. Before about 1970, the gas just evaporated into the atmosphere. If you let the car sit you'd end up with an empty tank. @activelifetransformation3 жыл бұрын
To an extent they are right. It's different from before, let's say, late 2000s. Now, it's more about movies and franchises than movie stars, but you still have people like The Rock, who's a blockbuster, and now, Deadpool guy, and this is because they play themselves, so you always know what you get... it's like in the times of Van Damme, Arnold Swa**, Stallone, Jackie Chan etc, you always knew that, when you see those guys, the movie is an action movie, I think another person who's still moving like this is Jason Statham.... But Mostly, it's no longer about movie stars, except a few actors who still play themselves in every movie
@LuisMedina13 жыл бұрын
@@activelifetransformation A lot of relevant actors always play themselves, though. Lakeith Stanfield is always a weirdo, Kevin Hart is always loud, Tom Cruise is always hyper and doing stunts. I think the MCU just messed with Hollywood's willingness to bet on a star's charisma when they can lean on IP. However, if the movie star is truly dead, why do Dreamworks and Illumination always cast movie stars as their voices instead of regular voice actors? Mario, Angry Birds and the Grinch are huge IPs, yet they always cast A-listers.
