Jungle Ultra 2023 | John Belton Takes On One of The Toughest Races in The World

The Jungle Ultra is a 230km self-sufficient ultra marathon through the Amazon Rainforest in Peru. In 2023, John Belton, a hybrid athlete and coach, decided along with good friend Spencer Matthews that they were were going to take on the challenge. He set himself an exacting race strategy and was a class act from start to finish.
His diligence and discipline paid off over the course of the five days as he got stronger and stronger as the race continued. He deployed the analogy of start slow but finish strong, and ultimately finished the race in 2nd position. This video explains why he signed up, how his experience was and advice on how to succeed.
