Great video! It's so refreshing as a beginner runner to see people build up to a 5k in weeks and months. I feel like all I see these days are incredibly gifted and exceptionally fast runners... Thanks for being honest :)

Thank you so much! I totally agreed. I’ll try my best to document my couch to half marathon journey as honest as I can! Thanks again for the support 🥰

I’m 43 and my goal is to run 5k in 33 minutes by New Year’s Eve. Next year I want to do the JP Morgan run in Frankfurt in June and the Brückenlauf in Wetzlar in August. Then I will be 44 years old. I am not a runner; I never was. But I want to challenge myself. And girl, 30 minutes is amazing!

Thank you ☺️. That is a really good goal and I think for sure you will be able to get there! It’s definitely tough starting as a beginner runner but very rewarding when you smash your goal! Wishing you the best for your training and race! 😊

I'm not buying it that she finished in 30 mins especially if she was running at the pace she was running at with her dog
@lani_mick3 ай бұрын
@@darcysandler952 in the video I mention that throughout the program it’s interval training and they say you should run at a pace where you could easily hold a conversation. At 8:46 you’ll see the screenshot of my Apple Watch where I ran 5km in 36:58 at a 7’23”/km pace. I documented my journey for others like me who are beginner runners. But if you’re not a beginner runner and are here to discredit my journey and discourage women and others from starting theirs then please jog on 😊

As someone who grew up in FNQ and played rugby in that heat and humidity running is no joke electrolytes are your friend 100% I was hospitalised after a pre season game in January due to dehydration. Keep up the good work. It’s been 10 years since I have run and just started this program but I live in Tassie now so I hope this helps me 😂

Haha so true! Thanks for your support 😊 That’s heaps good that you’re getting back into running, and I reckon that Tassie weather would definitely help! 🥶😂

Congratulations!! I started with a c-to-5k program three years ago. It changed my life and it’s so encouraging to keep seeing how our bodies can adapt over time. My first 50k is this weekend. Sticking with a plan of some sort is so helpful. Good luck on your running journey ❤

Thank you so much! 50km is absolutely insane 🤯 you are killing it!! I hope to continue my journey and maybe one day I’ll be able to get there 😊❤️.

Agreed!! Increasing the toughness every time makes it seem like you're not improving cause it's still difficult but overcoming that mental battle and seeing the progress, really feels good. Great achievement

The first 20 minute non-stop run is tough. I pulled two calf muscles about this point which really put my progress back; it took weeks for me to get over one of the injuries. I’d suggest that new runners or older runners stick to a very flat course, avoid hills and don’t try to run too fast but build up slowly. If you struggle with the 20 minute session then it’s ok to go back to the interval sessions and try again. You don’t have to stick to the plan as it’s your journey. Your plan seems to be different to the one that I did as the last couple of weeks were no-interval sessions but only up to 30 mins. When you complete the first 5K then it’s a great achievement…….forget about comparing your first time as you’ll get better and better.
