Joji's long awaited 'In Tongues' is a soft, melodic and overall hypnotizing musical ride. While Joji has probably been wanting to release an EP for many years, it almost feel's like he waited too long. The sound Joji is tapping into here is now commonplace in 2017/2018. There are a many artists creating this type of music, therefore it's harder to elicit a strong positive reaction because there's not too much different about it. Regardless, this EP is "good"...but that's it... it's pretty safe and in the box, but it's an enjoyable listen. -- PATREON: www.patreon.com/JungleBeats FACEBOOK: facebook.com/junglebeatsmedia TWITTER: twitter.com/JBeatsMedia INSTAGRAM: instagram.com/junglebeatsmedia/ JUNGLE BEATS MERCH: wheniseeit.com/collections/jungle-beats-merchandise 2017 TOP ALBUMS LIST: www.amazon.com/shop/junglebeats (Purchasing music from here supports our channel) MIXCLOUD: www.mixcloud.com/junglebeatsmedia/

I understand there's a similar sound that Joji has that's been popularized as of late, but you can't deny how polished and clean this EP is. It's beautiful and melodic in a way that puts it leagues above its contemporaries, and I think this is just a small taste of what he's got in store. The free songs he's put out are great as well but I think this aesthetic is where he truly shines. A specific highpoint for me is "Bitter Fuck" because it's the first ever "melancholy banger" I've ever heard. As an unbiased fan who has been waiting for George to drop something for 3 years now, this EP is the best appetizer a fan could as for. 9.5/10 in my book.
@marimar10937 жыл бұрын
I understand a lot of your points and while I love the polish and quality of the songs I don't think that I would personally rate the "album" so highly because it seemed to me like completed version of previous Joji tracks rather than anything that new and innovative. Also I know it is an EP but it felt kind of disappointing after all this time to get 6 tracks including the prerelease single and Worldstar Money which has been around for a while. I find it interesting that WM is labelled as an interlude despite being the last song on the album. It is quite possible that the next Joji release, Which is slated for early next year according to TheNeedleDrop (IDK what his source is or if he spoke directly with george), will thematically link to this one and be designed to be listened to together. A solid 8 imo
@Dragonblazeromega7 жыл бұрын
Personally, I give it a 6.5 maybe 7/10. He's got potential but honestly his Chloe Burbank album was better imo. I really liked Demons and Bitter Fuck though.

Alex? Yeah my number one disappointment with his first release is that it wasnt Chlor Burbank. It seemed like some massive project he had been slowly building up to as his debut. Still maybe one day he will release a more polished version but maybe not given the fan made ones are awesome

speaking in tongues is a religious phenomenon. It typically means that you are over come with spirits, and you speak in unknown languages. It is to fit the religious undertones of the ep, going with the track "demons." I believe it to mean that he is loosing the one he loves, their relationship is falling apart, and he is delving into spiritual outlets.

I don't know if you guys knew this, or ever figured it out after this video (not trying to be rude), but atleast from what i've gathered, this album is meant to be 'nostalgiac' and 'sad', as there was some kind of interview where he said that, he was going through heartbreak and relationship problems, and he dealt with those by creating this album. It wasn't made to be good music (although i still think it is.), it was made because george just decided to make some music about his life. Who knows, i might be wrong.
